So minimum age for these forums is meant to be 13. Shifty registered in May 2000. This means that we'll likely soon be getting guys joining who were born after Shifty registered here.

That to me is crazy talk, I can't fathom these guys being born in a world that had always had internet forums, much less this one, and our most notable long serving member posting here...

These members won't understand the excitement of an internet forum, and chatting to people from around the world, it'll be normal for them - it'd been happening here since before they were born.

That's my serious post for the day - discuss

Don't forget Walkman, VHS tapes and rotary phones.

I actually missed Rotary phones.

I proudly carried a big beast of a Walkman during middle and secondary school with a bunch of tapes in my schoolbag. I remember when they came out with the autoreverse, so you didn't have to flip your cassette (H).

I also remember being proud that I had one with am/fm radio and listening the the 94 and 98 WC during classes.

This is clearly offtopic, but does anyone else here use those old cellphones with buttons? I'm one of them, and the good side of this is that the battery lasts for like 3 days. For example Iphone's battery lasts for 24h max and I use my cell only for calling.

The 94 WC during classes? Classes in June? And the 98 WC was when I was working on the resorts in Mexico. That was a killer party. (H)

I still have my old phones, if that counts. But only until last year did I upgrade from an 05 flip phone with a keypad to an iphone. And yes, they did and do last longer than the iphones.

Sir_Didier_Drogba.

However, I'll point out that on my Galaxy S 3, of you turn off data, put it on 2G only (fine for calling), turn off GPS, and turn off any sync, my battery would last just as long.

The battery hasn't gotten worse, everything that the phone is doing is just much more battery intensive.

If you got a good phone, and only used it for what you can use your current phone (disabling the rest), the battery would be fine

I don't want you guys to get emotional about this, but I still use a Nokia 1600 and have a 3310 as backup.
