PES 3 on XBox.. Live support and XSN?

Well, if anyone here's into the xbox scene, you'll know that the X03 convention is taking place in France right now, and apparently rumors are that MS will publish PES3 with LIVE support! jeux-france and Xbox-Atittude have reported.

It hasn't been officially announced, but if it's true then it would be absolutely insane, playing PES on xbox and XBL would be totally awesome, and miles better than Sony's offering, also it would be huge in Europe and hopefully xbox sales would sky-rocket.

if of course this story is right, am praying it is, will be my footy game for this year no doubt about that, otherwise I'm stuck between Club Football and FIFA, which though they are authentic and have some good bits don't match PES overall

..sony have the license till 2004/2005 so it prolly wont happen till then

ill believe it when sony or konami confirm it, then again since pes3 is gunna be on PC i wouoldnt be totally surprised if they've struck up a deal with gill bates:mrpimp:

This is great news!!! Now I'm having second thoughts about buying a pad for the PC or just wainting for the XBOX version.

That is a rough translation. I speak French good enough and here is the translation:

An agreement would apparently be concluded between Microsoft and KONAMI, an agreement which would allow the famous football game to be ported to the XBOX and most interestingly perhaps be compatible with XBOX Live and XNS Sports. Konami thus seems to confirm its ambition to bury FIFA. The release of Pro Evolution Soccer 3 is expected to be at the end of the year on XBOX, PC and Playstation 2. Great.

Neither Microsoft nor KONAMI has announced anything. In addition, the PES series is exclusive to the PS2 console outside of Japan unless KONAMI made a change to their contract with SONY. This is rumor.

Excitement began earlier than expected this evening with a report on Jeux-France.com that Konami's masterful Pro Evolution series would soon be appearing on Xbox. Assuming to some extent that the French site was reporting on the Nice-based X03 press event first hand (as was the indication), we ran an item at this URL breathlessly relating the news to you, our beloved readers, in good faith.

However despite our assumption that the news would be included in Microsoft's X03 announcements (which appeared at about 21:15, shortly after the press conference concluded in France), PES3 on Xbox was not mentioned. Speaking to our reporters on the scene (lagered up though they were), apparently nobody's mentioned anything - and that's a sure sign that something's up.

Although we can't speak to Konami right this second, we'll be sure to do so in the morning and set this straight once and for all. But while we still hold a modicum of hope for that Xbox iteration with Live and XSN Sports integration, we're beginning to worry that it's all a big fib. And we're as depressed about that as you are.

PRO EVO 3 XBOX RUMOUR SCOTCHED

12:55 With news trickling out of X03 in less than barnstorming fashion, (no Perfect Dark? One pesky Halo 2 shot? Huh?) a couple of websites have been leading with the news, apparently originating in France, that Pro Evolution 3 is coming to the Xbox! Awesome, assuming it's true of course. And, uh, it's not.
We spoke to Microsoft about the story. It didn't know what we were talking about. So then we spoke to Konami, and Konami was surprised too.

"If we had an announcement, you guys would be the first to know" a Konami spokesperson told us - hey, we know the company says that to all the girls, but we like a bit of flattery - before adding that: "Obviously nothing's set in stone, but there's no way this is happening in the foreseeable future."

Ho hum. We're genuinely gutted not to see the mighty Pro Evo on Xbox, but at least, in time honoured Columbo fashion, we've got to the bottom of the story with our "just one more question" approach. Pro Evo 3 will be hitting the PS2 and PC this November.

ow right and thats why metroid prime, halo are multi format

Konami get a nice fat cheque of sony and the game makes most of its money in europe and Japan, everywhere else is pitance.

use your brain. there is more to it then flooding the market

Look here asshole... I know what exclusivity deals are ok? I've been seeing it ever since the Genesis/SNES wars. And i've been playing games since the 48k and the pacman arcades.

Of course the compensation from Sony is probably more than enough and it's "sure profit" for Konami and independent from sales figures.

Anyway I think it would still be more profitable and rewarding for Konami if the game went multi-plattform. Because much like Halo everyone says the game is the best in the genre but if it isn't available to everybody how can you tell? PES has won the "war" against FIFA but only on the PS2.
