I have to say that this IS by far the best football game I have expererienced thus far, I must say that PES is going to have to come REALLY good this year to top FIFA. I just love how they improved this game this year.
People keep saying, "it's sluggish" or "there still is this invisible wall" well It's called organic physics, most players can't stop and turn on a dime or collect the ball clean every single time, it is way more realistic and I dare everyone to play this entire game with everything set to manual, that is a real challenge and really turns this game into a real simulation with less than perfect passes because at times it could look downright clumsy and ugly just like in a real game not to mention when manual is turned on the player being passed to comes towards the ball not to mention the passing is fun and challenging as hell especially when playing and passing near the sideline but when done right you swear you were watching TV and your team actually plays like a team, making runs getting open, supporting you by creating passing lanes.
I have noticed that if you stand around and pass the ball to yourself keeping possession, the defense becomes stiff, confident and aggressive even pushing up and closing passing lanes but if you make a little run with the ball at the defense you will notice the defense will start to bend even break down, really opening some holes just like in real life.
The animation is exquisite! from headers to striking the ball, I love the fact you can manipulate your player in such a way that you can strike the ball with his weaker foot too, I love the fact there are certain kicking animations that are not possible without looking absolutely awkward and kissing the pitch.
I don't think people realize the amount of work EA put into this game, The game play IMO is superb but here's the kicker the weakest part of this game is the graphics, EA really needs to redo the player models and the faces, very cartoon and poor not to mention inaccurate, but all in all an excellent game from what I see on the demo.
