I want better graphics then last year. Last year the graphics made a good step forwards but they had another 12 months to improve them.
The gameplay of PES5 was okay but the gameplay from the PES5 demo was better somehow. I still remember the difference between the final version and the demo. The gameplay and speed in the demo were fantastic that time. I don't know how it is compared to PES 2008 because it's been 3 years ago but i will try to download the PES5 demo tonight and compare it with my PES 2008.

Thru some interviews Konami had done since the beg of 2008 with famous and experienced PES gamers around the world who advised that PES5 is the one that had the most realistic gameplay among the PES series until now, Konami has decided to be back to PES5's gameplay in order to gat back the fans' sympathy after unsuccessful result with PES2008 (Konami received many complaints abt its gameplay, some gamers said PES2008 was a defeat compared with PES6 even)

Actually Konami planned PES 2009 to be continued based on PES2008 (the next-gen engine) if PES 2008 got fruitful points. But, how is the result of PES2008 ?. all of you could see. So, Konami decided to be back to the traditional gameplay. For the graphics, the current flow must be kept (PES2008's one) and improved.

I have played the PES5 demo last night but i was not impressed like i was 3 years ago. The gameplay was okay, nothing special, but the speed is really bad. Way to fast. Maybe i will install the full version later today because i still have all previous dvd's. If they use PES5 as a base fine, but they have to improve the three year old gameplay a lot to have a succesful game in 2009.

OK, waiting for your respond on feeling after re-playing PES5 full version. Actually our feeling may change over the time. In the past the feeling might be good but now it changed :).

Of course Konami will be based on but not keep 100% of PES5's gameplay. Furthermore, it will add some improvement which PES2008 is bringing (as Konami declared some weeks ago).

Let's wait n' see!
While praying best wishes for the PES version of this year...

It's worth spending time for our hobby. A billionaire could spend a huge amount for a luxurious yatch. Why couldn't he take time with PES ones ?:bob:

Okay, i just finished testing the games. I played a lot of matches with the same formations and strategy for every game. My favorite game defenitely is PES4. PES5 comes close and is more realistic and is adding some nice things and little tweaks so if PES2009 really is having most of the gameplay from
PES5 i would be satisfied.

What i like about PES4 is the fact that the AI plays more direct and for the player it also is easier to play a one-touch passing game. Wingplayers are running and using the free space in front of them better than in PES6 and PES2008. Somehow it always feels if an attack gets terminated in those two later games. What i also like about PES4 is the fact that there is more counterattacking. The only problem with this is that it is too easy to lob the keeper or use a trick to pass the goalkeeper so if you are an experienced PES player you can score to much goals. In PES5 there is less counterattacking and lobbing the ball is much more difficult.

What i also like about PES4 and PES5 is that you have more control over your defense. In PES2008 playing defense is really a pain because every player on the Cpu team can slalom like Maradona and Messi. With PES4 you are in control and even when there is only one defender left you don't have to panic because you have a chance to solve the problem. In PES2008 there is a reason to panic even if you are defending with 10 players.

Also it feels like PES4,PES5 and PES6 are much more responsive than PES2008. I don't know if it has anything to do with the graphics or something but playing the older games feels much more smooth. The framerate is not the problem because in all four of the games i have a steady framerate of 60 with vsync enabled.

I discussed this also on a dutch forum and it was nice to see that a lot of old school PES players also liked PES4 and PES5 the most.

I think your result of testing to realize which versions are the most favorite to you would be the same as the result of interview Konami had done with experienced PES gamers. Amongst them, there was a very famous PES fan who got so many PES-related prizes (I don't remember his name) and he spoke that PES 5 is the most realistic version.

So, based on what Konami said, we will have a new PES of this year with basic of PES 5 gameplay and the current graphical outlines, and we hope the new version will get back the PES fans' sympathy forgetting the last year's one which was not successful.

Let's wait n' see!:)
