PES2 formation cure pls

OK, this is how things are: we are playing multiplayer duels, two on two. First to get 5 wins gets a dinner! Since we have lost one, and we have another round tonight, we need the cure for the formation 3-5-2 in such order:

-3 at the back
-2 veeery defensive middfielders just, but just in front of last line
-1, another defensive middfielder just before halway line+ 2 wingers
-2 up front

This means 3 at the back, but along with 2 very defensive middfielders in front + a defensive mid in front of them all. It's a very defensive option of 3-5-2 but very succesful - taken from 5-3-2, but well, last line exists behind 2 stoppers in front (something like 3-2 - 1-2 - 2!?). We always seam to get to their half and bounced off! Please suggest a formation to crack this!!! We tried with regular 3-5-2 but no succes, well, we dominate, but it's hard to crack such crowd in front of the box. (We want to try 3-4-3, with a defensive and offensive mids, plus wingers, one fw very up front)!
Please suggest!

I play 3-5-2 and don't seem to have many problems, I suppose it depends on the team you're using (players wise) and your attacking style.

In my 1st team I play, 1 of my DFMs (normally Veron) with an attacking bias whilst the other (normally Davids. Viera or Di Livio) has no bias but doesn't normally join in attacks as much. When the opposition clear from crosses/corners one of them is usually on hand to start another attack or perhaps get a shot off from the edge of the box.

Each of the SMFs (Zenden or Killy Gonzalez on the left, Beckham or Diesler on the right) have an attcking bias towrds the corner flag of the way thy are playing (ie diagnoly forward, away from the goal). Sometimes a SMF with a god defensive rating is useful against wing backs as they can win a lot of tackles in the oppositions half.

The OMF & both CFs all have the straight forward attacking bias, I also have Counter Attack and Zone Press pretty much constantly on so they push up.

You either need to be passing the ball around to create space and pull the other team out of position, particularly if you manage to win a tackle against a DFM or CBT/SB who's pushed forward. Be on the look out for situations where there are only 2 defenders back with your attackers, get the ball to you OMF and then pass to the CF in the best position to start a 1-2.

When you have the ball on the wing ALWAYS look at the screen/radar to see if your other SMF is in space and hit a long ball actoss the width of the pitch to them. You can use this to maintain pressure for quite some time if you use the radar to pass to free players, and use L1+O to knock in some early crosses. Whilst a lot of them go too far past the back post, you can use X to header back across the face of the goal.

And vary your attacks from central, to running down the wing. It can be too hard to break down becasue there are normally 3 in the box to defend crosses, and too many stood in the middle of the pitch to short-pass around.

That is a very good formation 352. it doesn't ahve to be defensive. you have 5 players on offence (the OH, Wingers and forwards), the DM's can help out and you have 5 on defence (3 CB's and 2 DM's) It's a well balanced formation if played correctly. One thing I like about this formation is that you have triangles all over the pitch. Makes for really good passing the ball around. 343 will expose you, you don't want to change what you are doing to start the game. What you could do is more your midfield (DM's and OH) up a little to help support the attack. But this is what you should be doing. Get the ball to the wings and send that bad boy into the box. You have your CF's, your OH and the far side winger to aim to, you are bound to get a few on goal and probably in the net. Goodluck.

Thanks for the advice! We took them out in 3-4-3 formation, beat them easier then you can imagine!!! We played with two forwards, one on each side + one in front of them in the middle. The two on the side drag the defensive mids and always add space to the one in the middle. So, basicaly we played with 3 in the last line, one offensive mid, 3 in the center line-one in the middle+two wingers and 3 up front! It worked very well! My advice is in general not to adopt your own way of play to the opponent but play your own way, but, to play brave and offensive against any very defensive formation, especialy 5-3-2 or anything similar!!!

You're definately right about playing to your own strengths, that's why knowing the game and your own team/players is so important. Then with the ML, you can build a team around your own style.
