PES2 - What about the licences?

Now, we all know, PES2/WE6 is THE best football game about, no questions, but we also know that it is really cool to have all the right kits, players etc. What I want to know is why don't konami a)use the small licences they have to their full extent, and b) Try and get round FIFA and obtain more (licences)?
First up, they have a deal with Umbro. Why don't they include umbro boots, and even shirts made by them? They could sign deals with Nike, Adidas etc to use their kits, therefore getting round the licence problem
Secondly the FIFpro licence, I don't know the exact details of the licence, but why have some names of players, why not have full teams etc?
Thirdly, with other sports games, like Formula 1 racing, NBA basketball etc, it seems that more than one game carries the offical licence, how come FIFA are the only ones with alll the names? Surely Konami could 'go through the back door' and through some loop-hole and obtain more licences?
Along with the presentation, the lack of names etc is the only thing that stops Pro Evolution from being THE greatest football game on the planet, that would crush FIFA!

konami only a simple company so their games are simple you have not the permission to talk bad about fifa hýmm...e.g fifa has licences yeaah all the kits and with fifa 2003 the names of pes,we and iss won't be heard.

1- U don't know what u r talking about cause u probably never played PES/WE;

2- Think before u come here and insult us all! My guess is that in a few hours u'r going to get bashed if u continue with this attitude.

So thats why EA sports spend millions each year to still come no-where near PES when it comes to gameplay?!

The bottom line is, ask any football fan, any football gamer, or even just a true gamer, they'll all say the same thing:
GAMEPLAY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT!!

You can shove licences up your A**, it aint nothing if the game doesn't play right, my original point was that If PES/WE6 got the licences they'd be the best no question.

People who prefer FIFA?
Well if you go for the superficial things; graphics, music, presentation, thats fine, but as a footballer who lives and breathes the sport, and as alot of proper football fans will testify,
FIFA sucks the big one.

Hmm, This is a sore spot for all KCET players.

IMO, Konami should get FIFA-ish blame for slacking in this department. I mean, they are trying, but they are moving too slowly. That said, I'm not going to drop the game over something as unimportant and real kits and real player names. I mean most of us play the game in Japanese. So long as both teams are not wearing similar kits, i'm cool :)

Question to you: why is it that in fifa forums loads of topics are about how the gamplay is bad, and load of peps complaining?

Have u notest the topics around here?

But u can come here again and say that fifa is better and "we don't have to know ur game" cause at least i'm laughing:p

just leave him alone. he said he never played any WE/PES games therefore dont talk to him. we ALL sometime played a FIFA game so we can give our opinions on both games. he s only been playing FIFA. he dont know what he s missin ;)
so dont mess with him just forget him and have a nice we6 game or two :mrpimp:

I believe many in this forum have played both FIFA and WE6/PES, and made up their minds easily on which game they prefer. I've convinced so far 12 of my pals to switch to WE6 -- it was really funny while one day one of them tried to boot up FIFA -- he got the same feeling as I do, that FIFA just seems so out of place and unrealistic... Anyway, if someone loathes PES it's his/her freedom, but I really urge them to really have tried PES before making a judgment.

And, with the patches available to download on the web, the license/real player name/kits problems have already been easily solved -- thanks to the great works from all the folks involved. I have to wonder if there is a patch out there modifing the game engine of FIFA so that it's more realistic...

At the end, maybe all that matters is marketing and advertising.

the option file save updates the names/kit/stadium

I feel sorry for everyone that has to play the japanese version, but why doesn't everyone import the british Pro Evolution soccer and not have to change a thing? I mean it would seem just as easy to import from Europe rather than Japan?
Secondly, what do you mean by patches for the game? If its on a PS2, I don't quite understand how anything can be added to the disc, i'm confused!

I think anyone who tried WE6 and applied the patch will say that it's worth it. WE6 is next version (actually 2 versions aft) of PES and is only playable on Japanese or chipped machines or using a so-called knife-trick. Try it!!!

Thanx for your help owngoaler, those patches are for the WE6 PS2 version right?, the fact is that I own the PSone version of the game, so they wont work for me. Anyways is there an editor or something for the WE6 aka WE 2002 for PS one?. Im kinda new on this matters, thanxxxs!!!!
