If someone complains about the game, then all of a sudden they are crap.

Whats up wif that?

Cant you accept any criticism.

We can accept it, but all you've done is blatently critisized the game time after time after time, I think your overdoing it, at an attempt to wind up some genuine people here.

You've even started to moan about the legend players, you can unlock the individual players, yet you cannot see in the PES SHOP you can unlock classic teams.

In conclusion to this thread, the forums finds you **** at Pro Evolution Soccer 3, therefore you can **** off back to the FIFA forum.

**** off and have a nice day. :ewan:

Really? How come i beat the computer in Master League almost every time with a team that's far from being your team of superstars?
I'm probably cheating as well in order to beat the cheating computer

Seriously, do people think the game doesn't cheat? It's the only way a computer can be remotely competitive against a human player. If Konami has by miracle of all miracles managed to code an AI that can play the game of football against a human brain on an even footing somebody should notify the scientists and philosophers because it would be a massive breakthrough in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

So, really, both Nostradamus and everybody else is right. Nost is right that the game cheats, and everybody else is right that you can still beat it even though it cheats.

I'm waiting for the day, perhaps in fifty years or so, when the computer will no longer need to give itself unfair advantages to be competitive against a human.

I don't think it cheats in 3 stars... I think that's the fair medium where computer plays at almost, if not, full capability and the referee goes your way there as well reasonably often.

At 4 stars the cheating begins, most noticeably the referees, especially if your leading in the last 15 minutes, they dive and dive and dive and get every 'foul'. Also in crunch matches (cup final) the computer is much better than in useless league matches (end of season, nothing to play for).

I am going back to 3 stars for now, can't handle the advantage of the AI in 4 stars yet, and yes you could moan and whine about that... or you could get back to 3 stars like I do and practice and come back better prepared (I have played 4 stars ML for 3 seasons now and I am getting too annoyed by losing :crazyboy: ).

But to say the computer doesn't cheat is nonsense... and "jig" already made clear why, an AI without unfair advantages that can challenge us humans? Doesn't exist yet and won't for a LONG while.

To be fair, the computer does "cheat" sometimes, eg the ball's in front of the opposing keeper and your forwards can't run to it, they have to wait for the keeper to collect it. Or throw-ins, where you must keep distant from the computer players, but the computer can run right up to your players. Also, the computer's AI is superior to the human player's team's. It isn't really a major issue IMO, but it exists nontheless. It's better than the computer seeming "destined" to score when it nears your goal though, like happened in some earlier versions of FIFA.

I am not bashing PES3 here. After all, since I got tired of FIFA 2001, tried out the demo of FIFA 2004 and conceded that EA Sports were making significant advances at last, it says a lot that PES3 is ultimately the game I'll be getting for Christmas. The game as a whole is excellent IMO.

But think about it- if PES3 was perfect, there wouldn't be any need for a PES4 would there? There is no such thing as a perfect game- you can get very close, but there'll always be flaws or imperfections somewhere along the line, however small.

Actually the part of the where you stated about the opposing keeper and your forward can be countered. All you need to do is smash all the buttons on your joypad especially L1 (No I'm not joking) and when your forward is near the ball simply tap the shoot buttons a couple of times(so that it doesn't blast away from goal) and there you go.. GOAL!

And another thing I just have to add is that the AI absolutely doesn't cheat in 3 stars. It's only in 4 stars where they begin their nonsense, or at least that's what I feel

Can you notice a pattern here? This guy comes in here, firing up a conversation with a bashing topic about PES, and leaves, never to be seen in the thread again, after all his accusations have been brought down, and us ending up just talking to ourselves...

Maybe it's his hobby or something...

Yes, I noticed it before. You know the type, right? Love to annoy people and if he sees the chaos he's left, he leaves full of satisfaction

I am still unsure about the cheating. I tell you why:
I found out that there is a way to get almost no foul after making a sliding. If you do the sliding the same way as shooting, you have equally succes. I mean, if you only tap the sliding-button (and you do it at the proper place, not from behind!) you get NO foul. Like in shooting, if you press the button long the shot ends somewhere at the moon :D The shorter you press, the better.
Same for slidings. The shorter you press, the more perfect. Of course, if you use a player who is crap in defending (marking) he makes less perfect slidings and get fouled. So make sure you do the sliding with a proper defender.

Now comes the main part: If there is a way to limit the fouls (like this sliding-example shows) there will be other ways to explore, like the complain of players speed ("my player is overmars, but he can't run past le Blanc"). I know from other PES/WE versions that there were unknown tricks to do, which were discovered later by people from forums.
I believe there are also ways to beat other, so called cheats, so lets try to discover them :)

I'm OK with a little cheating from the comp.

Otherwise good players+ you being good will render the game too easy to be fun.

3 stars tho, it's pretty easy imo ;-/. I haven't tried harder difficulties yet but on 3 stars I beat division 2 in the very first season and div 1 on the second season. Got both cups too ;-/.

Starting XI
I play on 3 stars...I have won African Cup with South Africa, Asia/Oceanic cup with China(lol) and European Cup with Portugal. Won Division 1, 2, and division 2 cup with Esportiva in Master League all with three stars.

All of these titles were made suffering...

In ML, I play on 3 stars, i defend well(really well), only suffered 16 goals in 30 games of ML...my problem is attacking, i make well everything, my midfielders are good(Quaresma, Moraes, Van Gogh and Maupassant) are really great, and the attackers help a lot(João Pinto, Ibsen and Piliniak). I pass well, the problem is getting past the last defender...if I get past the last defender, i fail 70% of the chances, then it is hard to win. I almost always shoot 1 or 2 balls at the bar in a game. The best is that I am getting better at long-range shoot. To difficult that, I got slowdown near the penalty-box. Many of my games(60%) in 3 stars are won by the smallest margin(1-0, 2-1), sometimes I make 3-0, 3-1, and I draw many times...I only lost 3 times last season, 2 for the cup and one for the league. The prob is that I draw many times.

But in my Season 3 of ML, i am getting better, contracted an even better defense(Luizão and Ayala), released Valeny(can't head well) started out well the pre-season 3 wins(2-1, 4-0, 2-0), then I made two games so far, one for the league(2-0) and one for the WEFA CHAMPIONSHIP, where I won Guadalquivir(Betis) for a good score(3-0). Well...maybe I will start to try 4 stars...

Conclusion...if you defend well, and have a good GK(important sometimes), you have half of the way done to wins 1 point. The next 2 points can be hard to obtain. You have to take your chances.

What I hate is when I am going to score, a stupid feet from a defender gets on my way, i get 15 shots by game...WTF?

if you would get these kind of reactions from mostly veteran posters would you come back?

i wouldn't. it's too tiring to hear the same old arguments over and over again that either entirely deny or half-heartedly explain away these obvious issues or make any critic look like a traitor.

maybe the tone of the original post was a bit harsh. but there are things in the game which can make you angry. and maybe you want to share your frustration sometimes.

what i don't understand is why all those who deny these issues (aka 'cheats') can't leave a thread like this one to the ones who can relate. it's totally ok that you don't have a problem with it, but you don't need to point that out over and over again and make people who do have a problem with it (or find it a flaw) look like jerks.

My honest, no-nonsence view on the matter...

I'm 100% sure the AI cheats on 3* or higher. They don't cheat all the time but you can just tell when they are going to do a "come-back goal" becuase they will suddenly outrun all your defenders or they will stand up to 3 players pushing them and still not fall down. Sometimes you can prevent it by getting in a crushing slide tackle or getting lucky w/ your keeper but most of the time on a "come-back run" they will score and you have very little control over that. That and the biased refs are the only true probs with PES3. Online play would be nice but it's not really a problem like the cheats and refs.

What I don't understand from your posts (yes, some of you in the past as well) is that you yourself has a sharp way of writing posts, but that you deny others their opinion. Some of us really believe that people like the Prophet say things which are not correct. If he has the right to say his thing, why are others not permitted to say what THEY think?
You call some of us 'fanboys' or something like 'PES-police' if we give our opinion. You seem to be "the protector of the anti-PES-posters" :D
If you use frases like "all those who deny these issues (aka 'cheats')" you already makes any other opinion than "there is cheating" impossible. What is this forum for? To discuss, I think.... even with you! :D

And yes...the cpu cheats...so many penalties they didn't made for me...so many fouls...sometimes i only touch the ball, the player doesn't fall, and he considers foul...this happens to me often in away matches.

I am not getting pissed...but it is hard sometimes, you have to take your chances, and the most important is defend well...

I'm convinced that the CPU cheats, but I'd also like to point out that I don't know of any football game where the CPU doesn't cheat.

You must not blame to the game's AI but blame to yourself. I play for 5 star and I use my Japan National Team with the three edit player Nakamura, Yanagisawa, Takahara (stats are from WE7 so you can't tell me I cheat the game) I won all the cup eg. konami, international ........ league cup.
I use 4-4-2 formation with Nakata for OH, Ono for the right wing, Nakumura on the left and Inamoto for the DH. I use them attach to the center of the pitch, my Nakamura and Ono always cut in the middle to perform some through ball for the strikers and Nakata always kept the ball from the second row to shoot from the long range.
Both left and right side attacks I use Alex and Yamada to support the both flanks.. they were good enough to cross from the side to the center.
My style concentrate short passing, hold the ball just like the real Japan National team as you can see they played on the Confederation Cup.

Nostradamus, I wonder how deep you understand the defination of football... You can't use the way you play in FIFA in PES3. PES3 is just the only game in this faaking world that can describe the definition of football... goddamnn... If you play football in the real pitch = 100% then PES3 can offer you around 90%... it's not totally perfect for sure.

So don't blame to the AI just blame yourself. There are sooo many factor to win the AI..... your formation, your tactics, your playing styles, etc. If you can't figure it out how crap you are, so just stick around to the FIFA.

But when you play on Master league with 5 stars .. Of course you must have a little difficult cause the given players in your team are really suck but if you win then you prove that you football game is playing with the good formation and good tactics.. don't need to use any superstar then YOU"RE THE MAN.

ps. The final match of international cup I won 3-0 with Nakamura scored the free kick from 31m and the second he scored the curved ball from the corner on the right side.
