PES4 PC Online League

Hey Wolf,
In comparing the online league to real football, you are failing to take into account the 2nd factor that online play brings in.
In real football, Arsenal will win most of the time because their players are more skilled than their opponets.
Online should be the same way - player vs. player. The skill level of the player should be the determining factor, not a combination of the skill of the player and the rating of the team they are using.
The fairest way is for the actual teams to be the same for each player. That way, just like in real football, the main determining factor will be the skill level of the particular player.
Does that make any sense?

GCAGORA - valid point, but you assume the better PES player is using the better team. What if the better team is being played by an inferior player - then it balances out. You can't legislate for this really, and aside from allowing people to pick whatever team they want, i don't see any solution to this. At the end of the day, i believe the best PES player will win out - no one team is miles ahead of any other in terms of ability, so can always be beaten. Plus the gameplay of PES will allow open ended and quite balanced games i think.

Why would we want it balanced out? If someone is a better player than me, they should beat me. I don't want to have to use Arsenal as the only way I could beat a guy who is using the Chicago Fire.
Anyway, I'm just excited about an online league. I'll take Bayern Munich.

Remember guys to check the first post in the thread to see what's taken before you post. I'm going strictly with first posted and claimed for the team allocation. There will be an opportunity in later seasons to change teams and trade with others.

I'm sure that even as Man Utd, I'm still gonna have some weak teams kick my butt. The great thing about PES is that it allows for those real life situations where you can outshoot your opponent by about 30 shots to 2 but still lose the game.
I'm thinking about having a small entry fee or something so we can provide some decent prizes for the winners of each league and cup competitions. We could get the Champions League winner a replica jersey or something like that and t-shirts for each individual league winner etc.

Not a bad idea that. I did wonder what was going to happen with awards/prizes. I'm sure something can be worked out. If it was done on an entry fee system, and we fill the roster of teams, then the fee would not be much at all to cover the cost of a few small prizes. Do we get sponsorship bonuses for winning big events!?

I just hope we haven't got any world class players here, cause i'm average at best. I'd like to think it was a fairly level playing field in terms of everybody's individual ability at the game.

1st pick overall:CL Winner gets to pick any team in any League.
1st Pick specific league:League winner get's to pick any team in his league.
The losers will be either in random order or weakest first to strongest last.
1. CL winner
2. League winners
3. last place in respective league
4. Second to last...

Alternatively, it could be selected entirely at random. Everyone who wants to play puts their name into a 'digital hat' and teams are assigned at random. You could have it so the first come first served names only go in the 'hat' - i.e same number of people for the number of avaiilable teams. Not sure about winners getting first pick - this could mean they dominate every season.

On pes3 I had improved Charlton appearances, if you make an option file would I be able to update the appearances, and any stats that are stupidly wrong and have that used as the option file? Once they are in it could be updated as normal and I (and anyone else) wouldn't have to update them each time a new version is out.

the two teams (players) can use a program called teamspeak 2 which i use in Rainbow 6 3. they can talk, "dirty B**tard" etc ref ur joking. this will bring the atomphere up and really boost morale in the league. would have some really good banter amoungst us. i hope some one gets everton so i can thrash my merseyside rival

Don`t know about teamspeak, but I`m using Skype these days and it works perfect, very stabile. You might wanna check it out.
