I think I'm gonna go with an entry fee because the winners (especially of the international league when it starts) deserve a prize of some sort. We can all donate through PayPal or similar and we'll let one of the mods on here handle the entry fee collection and prizes.

When the game hits our hands, we need to test the crap out of the online/IP to IP mode before anybody starts collecting league fees. I have some pretty heavy reservations about whether or not this is going to work:
1) IP to IP puts the host at a supreme advantage. If you've ever played a First Person Shooter online against someone who's actually playing FROM the server (or it's network), you'll know what I mean. Even if I'm pinging 60 (pretty good for ADSL), that 0 ping the opponent has can make all the difference. It COULD be the decisive factor between two evenly matched opponents.
2) Geographic location: How good can a transcontinental game be? I remember playing Quake on servers in Sweden. A 30 ping in the States translated to 150-200 ping hitting a server across the pond. Again, a game breaker. There's a very real possibility that we've already got people signed up from 4 or more different continents.
Sorry to be skeptical, I just want everyone to realize we have some hurdles to cross before this thing can be pulled off. For myself, I got caught up in the moment of the prospect of playing PES online. Now I'm more cautiously optimistic.

Pfff!!! 1) PES don't need Online option to be the best football videogame..
2) Wolf explained us his will to transform the network (LAN) option purposed in PES4 into a "ip to ip" option.
Conclusion: UberOne2010 could you keep your stupid advices for some fifa forums.
you're right I would prefer playing Soccer Formation 2 1993 online then fifa 2005 online, Long live Konami until 2010!Originally posted by TristanAbbott7
Guys, no arguing on the thread. Let's keep the arguing in check and reserved purely to tell the FIFA twats to get lost!
I'd rather play WE2002 online with the PSX emulator than play FIFA 2005 online. In fact I'd rather play freaking tic tac toe online than FIFA 2005 online!
Konami haven't made any mistakes on their website. It wouldn't be up there if it wasn't true. LAN play is easy to convert to IP to IP play, it's smoother, fewer hang-ups and easier to arrange. Hosting servers normally get bottlenecks and there's little or no advantage to them other than for the lazy who can't find anybody to play directly. We've got enough people registered here between us on this forum alone to keep us going until PES10!!!

Look at the stats. They specifically say you can go on the internet. Why would they limit it to a local network?
Why do you want to take money? I would rather not pay any money and not win any money either. This is football, not poker.

and the connection speeds - 64kminimum??? surely if it was LAN, they would have put 10mb Network Card?? and recommended 1.5Mbps - surely if it was LAN they would recommend 100Mbp network cards??
