PES5 - Too Many Offsides! crappy AI

hey just my 2c on the new PES version...so far yeh its wicked a lot better then 3 and 4 however i dont know if its just me but i seem to be getting HEAPS of offsides...like very stupid ones too..my forwards just go nuts and run heaps far in front when the midfield have the ball...seems like a bit of a bug to me....

also the AI seem to be pretty crap...i dont know if its because their condition is set on poor but im on 5 stars and the PC cant seem to setup a decent play to score a goal...theres heaps of bumping and randomness too...ah well maybe im just being too picky but meh...

Also!!...i was playing and a pretty good thought came to mind i dont know what you guys will think but....
i think it would be a good idea if someone could make a patch to change the stupid and annoying whistling from the crowd to actual noises from the players on the pitch (like calling for the ball and that....i think FIFA has that or maybe an old PES game)...but yeh i rekon that would be better then that whistling noise..

Just got to make sure you time the pass with the striker's run. Strikers often run beyond the last man, in real life.

Yea they are often offside with me too, and not just offside but for miles, but in general I think the AI is poor, very poor.

Shindig, let me guess, you think PES5 is absolutely perfect and you give it 10/10?

Also, in real life they do that yes, but on this game they are far too much offside to even think they are trying to beat the last defender.

hehe thats so not true. Ok there are many offsides but its your own fault! U have to time ur passes and u have to be sure that u set defence of the attackerst to medium and not low. And how can u say the AI is bad? why do u think this game become harder? sometimes even after 30 minutes of play its still 0-0 and this was impossible in previous versions. Only thing i hate is that they sometimes seem to be stuck on the field when they easily could have had the bal, thats just annoying. But i hope they have fixed that in the full versions.

How can it be our fault, do we control the offside player? I doubt it, so how you can honestly say it is our fault is beyond me. It ain't about timing passes, it is about the striker being offside for a mile.

It is harder because they use a 7-2-1 formation, aka they all defend.

Dont pass to the offside player. It's common sense. Move it about the pitch until you force the defenders deeper and then try to find the option.

I have the xbox version and at the beginning i found there were alot of offside but it is all about the timing. You have to use the map at the bottom to time the forwards run..its the same on freekicks out wide your players move forward and back from onside to offside to back o onside. You just need to time the cross/pass to when your forward is just about level. It might not work for you but I have far less offside decisions now and the games are flowing.

Don't think you quite understand the concept of artificial intelligence. Players make offside runs. Players get caught offside. Forwards do it all the time in football. It's up to the midfielders to pick the right sodding pass! The CPU chooses when to run. If you can't spot it, you pay for it.

Accept the fact that people have different opinions than you. Accept the fact that your opinion is not automatically the right one.

Now here is my opinion. I think PES5 forces the player to think before they act and that's why through passes are much harder to get right. And yes players are offsides all the time in real life. If you're smart with your passes, you'll be caught offsides alot less.

No, you don't get it, in real life the striker is a few yards offside and comes back just in-time, whereas in this game they are a good 15-20 yards offside sometimes, now unless he has wings, how in gods name can he get back in-time to make the run?

And even so, sometimes when I just press X it goes to the offside player anyway, but I guess that is my fault because I shouldn't be pressing X anyway huh?

If you look before you pass, you will be fine. It does not happen that often. Also make sure not to press the X button so hard. It'll pass it to the furthest player.

ok for starters its called a "radar" and yes we all use it..youd be stupid not to...now ive been playing pes 3 since it came out and pes 4 since it came out.....i can win most games on 6 stars....(IVE PLAYED IT ALOT) and i also play real soccer...in PES4 on a 30min game i would get about 3 or 4 offsides....in this pes 5 demo i get about 10-15 a half!....and its true...the players are like 15-20m in front offside and dont run back....sometimes youll pass the ball from like defence to a forward and hell be running back and once he toches it "offside" and you look at the reply and its just total bullsh*t...

i hope they can fix this BUG...i had NO problems in 3 or 4

Haven't noticed this? My players always seem to be right on the fringe and get called a lot though but never are they so far offside it's noticable.

It is about timing the through ball or pass , but I can see where he is coming from! A good few times when I have been attacking in the demo and the cpu back 4 are in a line about 30yrds out from there goal , my forward is well inside there penalty box and Ive had to turn my winger back so he can come back out! It is not a case of my forward running to early and being a yard or two offside, but when my winger on the ball is about 40yrds from goal, my forward runs away beyond the defence and well into the box.. As I said, you have to stop the winger and turn back ...

another thing I hope they can fix in the next gen is the offside, ive seen offside given when my players body is inline with the defender and his bent knee is sticking out ! Ok I know they have limits to what they can do just now , but in the real game the attacker is suppose to have the advantage when things are that close..

That is unless you Van the Man then you can stand 10yrd beyond the line of defenders and when the ball is played to another player just turn and run in on goal and take the pass and score ...

There is alot of whining about some issues like free kicks and off sides.

My advice: dont tap the x like a maniac that way u will avoid the faouls. And dont tap the triangle like a noob. See if striker is online and pass it then. Just like...

i also dont have a lot offside calls. So i dont think its a bug. But i must recall that sometimes the player automatically passes to the player that is offside instead of the player that is closer by. Even when you just tap X. That sucks .
And the AI does suck, yes its hard to score, but the AI isnt capable too score a lot. So most of the time its me struggeling for a goal. But i dont care i only play online anyway.
