mate, your problem is your resolution. It looks like you must have it far to high. The standard resolution is 72 pixels per inch it looks to me as if you have it and over 500!!!! Create a new image and keep the dimensions the same but reduce the resolution to 72 or even 100. This will make sure that you will be able to see your text a lot easier, and you won't have to use such a high "point" size either.

It's cos you're zoomed out...go to view and click on actual pixels and you should see the image at its actual size (i.e. 100%).

listen to Vazza, he's got it right...just double click your zoom tool to go to put your image at 100% and you'll be fine..

the resolution might be an issue but I doubt it, since I often work at 300 dpi (since that's the standard for print work) without any problems

Thanks forlan, at least someone knows what they're talking about!!!

I also use resolutions of 300 because i do a lot of freelancing graphics work and I need a high amount of detail. But the document that jigger was working on is appearing on screen as print size ( i believe ) and it is only 5% of it's actual pixel size so that shows that the resolution is at a stupid level ( I'm not having a go jigger :p ). And also the size of the document, 80 megs for a blank document!!!! MY WORD!!! Most of my A4 size work, completed, and at 300 P/I is only just about that. So i hope that proves that the resolution is far too high.

I am not saying that zooming in wouldn't work, because it will. What i'm saying is that if you have a much MUCH lower resolution then you won't need too. Also if you use too high a resolution then it will fill up your hard drive very quickly!!

i don't mean to have a go,cos i respect you "shinji" and I enjoy your work. I just want to help this guy and this is the problem he is having.

Another question:

Is there a way i can make a copy of my design. eg im creating navigation buttons using the 'Aqua Pill' design, is there a way to copy it without having to go through the whole process allover again but to be able to edit the text on the button.

well it depends. Have you flattened your image??! If you have then it is gonna be tricky, well it could be, depends on the complexity of your button.

If you have flattened your image and saved as something other than a .psd file then you're going to either do it again or paint over the text with the background colour.

If you still have it in Layered form then just edit your text, or make a new text layer, lay it on top and delete the unwanted text layer.

also if you have still got the image open from when you started on it you might be able to go back through the history tab and go back to when you put the text on and delete all the actions since then. But if you have saved it and reopened it since you put the text on then this option won't work.

You can't be much of a graphics designer if you couldn't solve that "problem" yourself:p

Excuse me!!!!!!

In what way did i not solve this guys problem. His resolution was far too high, i told him to lower it. Can you show me where in this quote it says that i don't know what i'm talking about!!!!!

I was saying that i use resolutions of up to 300 for my work because i need the detail. whats wrong with saying that. He was using a resolution of probably over a 1000, there is no need for him to use this high a resolution. I told him this, and it solved his problem. So please, mr F'ing Genius, tell me what i've done wrong. Oh wait you can't.

You friggin' idiot.
