Hi

When i try to play fifa 2002 with my joystick player 1 passes the ball to player 2 player as soon as he gets the ball, player 2 passes the ball to player 3 and so on.

Any ideas ??

My SW is w2k dx8
My joystick is Logitech Wingman Extreme FFB

If you use joystick the only way to prevent direct passing is
to set you axis for trottle and all other axis but x and y
to the middle. The best is to disable those axis but that is not always possible.Al least on my sidewinder precision pro it
is not!
I asked EA and microsoft to help on this matter because
the joysticks worked fine on previous FIFA games.

I love FIFA and also hate it!

Sorry for intruding.

I have a MS force feedback pro. Centering throttle partially solves the problem as I keep on experiencing random but frequent 1-2 passing.

Maybe, through Windows registry, we could disable throttle.

What do you think?

Joystick

I have the same problem, with a Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital.

In the set up notes it says you should configure the joystick as a "Thrustmaster FCS" (or a 2 axis joystick if I remember correctly). Unfortunately, the notes don't quite tell you how to do this.

I've discovered it's really easy to set up a "Controller ID" of "Thrustmaster FCS", but my PC (I'm using Windows ME) tells me the controller id is not connected (Control Panel), and then I can't see it in the Wingman Profiler. The only one it sees as connected is the Wingman.

I've asked Logitech for help and they are being really obtuse about the whole thing, you know, advising me to ask EA Sports and to configure it as a Wingman! Anything but be helpful.

My next step is to ask Microsoft.

Unless anyone out there can tell me...

Usually I've that problem too with...

Usually I've that problem too, I use the playstation pad for the pc game. That only happens to me when I configurated the pad with the analog button off, and then I turn on the analog button.......

The way I solved my problem, was to get out of the game, put analog on, came in to Fifa and re-configurated de controller... for joystick i don't know, but maybe this give you an idea...

Thanks SPLisbon.

I've given up with Microsoft (I've got the wrong type of joystick) and Logitech, who are really obtuse about answering what I thought was a simple question. I looked at what Soccerlover said above and found out how to reconfigure the throttle so that the players should sprint when I twist it. They don't sprint, but it does stop the 1-2s. Unfortunately this only works temporarily, and I just don't have the energy to star looking at manipulating the registry.

So I've decided the best solution is to cut my losses and put any game by EA Sports on my list of "Don't Buys". Plus of course to avoid Logitech products. After all, there are plenty of other games out there that work out of the box for me.
