Player playing for other countries a.k.a Edu wanting to play for England

I think this rule is the biggest bunch of garbadge that I have ever seen. EDU playing for England, what is this. This has got to be changed. The country where your born in should be the team that you have to play for. Its as simple as that. The only exception of that rule should be if you were a resident in another country (moved) before your third bithday and you were a resident in that country for at least 10 years. This would men that players like Freddy Adu could play for the United states because he moved to America from Africa before he was 3 and he has been resident in that country for more then 10 years.

someone doesn't keep up with the rules.

It's 2 years, or a parent/grandparent of that nation's citizenship.

Edu has lived in London more than 2 years, so legally he can be capped by england.

I don't see a problem with it. Just as long as countries like Qatar don't abuse it there is no problem. I mean they aren't being payed so it is up to the player.

I guess it's up for the manager and the player...
if a player is eligible for some country, the manager would have to call him up and the player would have to accept...
if the manager thinks it'd be good for the national side he's in charge of, and the player wants to play for the country he's in, I see no problem at all

This sort of situation is really a black spot on international soccer. Im seeing too much Brazilians who cant cut it for the big squad, deciding to play for other countries just because theyre not good enough for their own team. As much as i like Camoranesi, id wish he didnt play for italy. Hargreaves is EASILY the worst example of this. Other than playing for England in internationals, hes never even lived in the country he represents.

I think the biggest 'wtf?' is seeing Olisadebe playing for Poland.

I think only people who have been born in a country, or have had their parents or grandparents (like the current rules are) born there should be able to play for a national team.

The rule I don't agree with is the one about living there for at least 2 years.

i agree. They should change the rule. its just rediculous. If I want to see players playing in other countries ill watch Club futbol. Thats why we HAVE Clubs.
Imagine this now. Who wouldnt dream of playing for a team that can go to the World Cup (ie: england).
All of a sudden, (imagine) that 2 amazing players come from New Zealand. Low and behold, England shows up and gives them the chances of a lifetime (plus "gifts" like a new car and house).

People: Hmm.....New Zealand getting the chance to do big things?
Blatter:......NOPE! (runs off with bags of money)

God I hate Blatter so much. Id swear I would actually ride a bus for 3 hours just to swear at him. God! lol.
im serious tho.

Most people dont seem to realise theres actually quite a large Brazillian population in Japan. Brazil and Japan have strong connections. Alex and his family have lived in Japan since he was a school kid.

I don't want to see sumone with the name EDu playing for England. I'm just suggesting rules

So if he was an American called Smith, that would be OK?

The biggest mistake of his career, and i expect he knows it. How he could choose a country whose fans throw bananas at black players and think nothing of it, over his motherland, i'll never know.

Help?

Actually i think Olisadebe made Poland a little less racist. They might still do it, but at least they like him now.

Its an insult to England if he plays for them. Like hes just settling for them, theres his consolation.

Maybe, but anyone under the illusion of England being in the same league as Brazil needs a slap around the face.

Alex Santos has been residing in Japan since he was 13. I find nothing wrong with it.

You have someone called Eriksson as your manager.
