Im having problems when playing pes5. what happens to me is that after a match, maybe 2, the game makes the cpu reboot(???). Im getting desesperated since im losing many things and these makes my cpu ruin. Please if someone knows of something like this please post!

PD: the only thing that came to my head would be something related to the power supply, but i find it very weirdo since playing other pes doesnt make my cpu reboot

thanks in advance

PD: sorry since i posted it on technical issues forum too, but i`ve got no answers at all:S

You checked heat? Whats your case temp, what gfx card you got? Got the latest drivers form Nvidia/ATI?

Have you checked your ram?

Download memtest86 and run it in dos, let it run for an hour or two, see if it picks up any errors.

Sorry bout all the questions just trying to help and find out whats causing it.

sounds like a graphics problem, graphics cards are normally what reboot when they are not happy. get latest drivers, or try another card,. it could well be overheating

guys thanks for answering;)

about the gfx card, i think its not a problem, i have a radeon 9600xt 256mb and i run the game at 1280x1024 with high details and it runs smooth. Also ive downloaded last catalyst driver(5.12) but it does the same.

how can i test heat when im ingame? does memtest fix those things?

thanks again for worrying(Y)

Memtest wont fix anything it will test your ram, if there are errors then its faulty, if it runs fine then you can rule that out, tou check your temp download motherboard monitor or speedfan, it will tell you the temp of your cpu and motherboard.

You could try running the game with the side of your case off.

Try the Omega drivers from http://www.omegadrivers.net/

Sometimes they help with odd things liek this.

Im going to bed now, I'm sick, let me know how it goes.

ok, ive installed speedfan and my med. heating rate is 38ºC which i consider rather normal.

Im having trouble understanding how memtest works, if im not wrong i have to create an image of the files on a floppy disc and then run the proggie from there??

Im currently trying omega drivers, let me tell you later how they worked...

Thanks :)

Could you list all the components in your system (type of memory, CPU, motherboard, video card, hard disk, power supply including rating)? This would help with troubleshooting. It sounds like you're on the right track though. Rebooting can be caused by an insufficient power supply but since this only occurs with PES5 it might be due to video driver incompatibility. It's worth trying memtest to test your memory but normally if you had a memory problem you would experience random reboots and system freezing no matter what. Let us know how the Omega drivers work for you. They're generally more stable than the Catalyst drivers.

you know its funny that you talk about the memory, cause now that i remember i`ve been suffering this random reboots since i upgraded my ram from 256 to 512

could you please explain me how to run memtest...?

thanks :)

You install it on a floppy disk and boot from that, then just let it run for an hour or two, it will check all your memory, its slow but it does the job, lets us know how it goes.

More RAM needs more power on the 3.3V line, which is where most cheap power supplies suffer. The AGP slot uses the 3.3V line as well.

I recommend upgrading your PSU. I had a similar problem with a computer that randomly crashed when on full load after a video card upgrade.

once i format a floppy disc and i install the proggie on it, the floppy disc gets unrecognisable and when i click on the unit it tells me:"Disc A has no format, do u want to give format to unit A..."

what am i supposed to do:S?

Swanseajack has informed you on how to use memtest. Getting back to the PSU...yes it could still be the culprit. However, try memtest first and determine if it is in fact bad memory before troubleshooting the psu. If the memory tests fine by memtest then I would suggest trying a different power supply. Preferrably you could borrow one from a friend or family member that way you wouldn't have to spend money when it might not actually fix the problem.
