i don't think this is the place
anyway.....
you should click pressing ALT to define the place to clone first, then click where to put the cloned area

press the ALT key (next to the space bar) and click somewhere to get what you want to clone, next time you left-click is going to 'paste' what you got with the 'alt-click'
