Porto coach Jose Mourinho would prefer a move to Liverpool over Chelsea.

Mourinho said: "Liverpool are a team that interests everyone and Chelsea does not interest me so much because it is a new project with lots of money invested in it.

"I think it is a project which, if the club fail to win everything, then Abramovich could retire and take the money out of the club. It's an uncertain project.

"It is interesting for a coach to have the money to hire quality players but you never know if a project like this will bring success."

With the sort of job hes done at Porto, I would love to see him come to Liverpool. I would prefer a manager with experience in the EPL but if Mourinho wants to come to Liverpool, I would be very happy. Anythings better than Houllier

their is nothing wrong with Gerard houllier ... we should at least give him another 5 years to rebuild the squad ....:rolleyes:

I think its just the fact that the Board are too bloody spineless to sack him upfront. Look at what happened with Roy Evans, Houllier came in a "Joint-Manager" and after a week or so Evans was out. Why can't they just sack him. :(

I will see it happen if I have to go too Liverpool myself (H)

i think he'll do wonders for Liverpool if he goes there. Look at what he did for Porto, plus he'll have some quality players in the squad should they make the CL

good come ot Anfield...Houllier is not going anywhere though according to bbc .....they say that he has been given 30 million pounds to improve the club.....how can you do that and then fire the guy? It would have made sense to hire Mourinho and then hive him the 30 million rather than make him coach players he might not actually want.:kader:

no it's just a rumors. Chelsea has much more money than Liverpool so they can offer to Mourinho more expensive contract. besides i heard Liverpool is gonna give Houllier 30 million for new players next season.

That is not true unless Mourinho is willing to be a lame duck for a year. Sir Bobby Robson signed a new contract a few months back then he will retire after the end of next season. Newcastle won't fire Robson unless Newcastle do poorly and Mourinho will leave after this season more than likely so I don't see that working out at all.
