I think it'll be a 1-1 tie....Sweden's a great team, we're without key players, and Scolari's in charge...at this point I think it's foolish optimism to hope for anything more than a draw in my opinion

Because the wingers called are better. Why do you think that all portuguese players that play abroad have all place on the NT?? We have a league too... Quaresma plays in the U21 and is not even a regular on Barcelona...

O médio português do Real Madrid, Luís Figo, revelou hoje que não ficou muito satisfeito com o facto dos jogadores do FC Porto terem sido poupados do particular, de quarta-feira, frente à Suécia, mesmo tendo em conta a participação dos portistas na Liga dos Campeões.


«Todos temos compromissos importantes. A mim também me aconteceu, mas estive sempre na selecção nacional», vincou Figo, que relembra a importância de ajudar a selecção em todos os jogos.

«Em determinados momentos é preferível o interesse dos clubes, face às competições em que estão, mas tem de haver tolerância com a selecção nacional, visto que não é só dar e, do outro lado, nada receber», rematou Figo.

O internacional português relembra ainda que o Euro2004 está praticamente a começar e todos os particulares são decisivos para encontrar o equilíbrio ideal no fio de jogo da selecção: «Este é mais um jogo de preparação importante, pois cada vez falta menos tempo para o Europeu e cada vez temos menos tempo para preparar a equipa.»

The NT has been with a battle with Porto over NT players for so long, they didn't want us to take their players but they wanted us to use Baia and Maniche.

And we were lucky to callup Pauleta as well since PSG wanted him for their match in the French cup.
