ALVALADE-XXI- I totally agree with the SCP youth system being the best, after we have FC Porto. But the diference is FC Porto still has and keeps it's youth talents, as SCPortugal SELL$ right when they see a quick buck!
While Porto have Postiga,Ricardo Carvalho still and Ricardo Silva on loan and Hugo Almeida on loan, Akos comming up. They ahve no intention to sell. But Sporting are already at the Hugo Viana stage shoping Quaresma or Ronaldo.
If you ask me who is the best youth you have at the moment, to me it's not Quaresma or Ronaldo, I can even go as far to tell you Cristiano Ronaldo will not even be amonst the worlds best, the kid had a great start,but has faded away and also tries one too many moves, he is not an intelligent footballer. Also Ricardo Quaresma has all the moves, but also needs to see the game better and make brighter decisions, but he sure can improve that and become a huge star. He has those figo qualities but will it all go to his head? Look what happend to boy wonder DANI now at Atletico Madrid.
To me the best SCP youth player is on loan to Academica, Boloni is an idiot not to keep this guy on the roster, as Sporting right now really could use Carlos Martins service. This guy has the great vision, understands the game and has a damm powerfull shot but instead of being and helping SCP, he is on loan. This kid is going to be big! I can compare him to Rui Costa if Quaresma is compared to Figo, it's to early for these comparisons but if I had to pick a Sporting player it would be CARLOS MARTINS! also dont forget you also at SCP have Ricardo Fernandes.
Benfica has alot of what was Sp.Braga youth team, Moreira is the only SLB youth player really. They should follow what other portuguese teams are doing, instead of every year buying 10 new faces and expecting to win a title.
FC Porto has a great youth school and many great players on loan to little first division teams. SCP better start keeping their youth talent, and Benfica developing some!

...and right, "we" must sell our best young players on a early stage of their career because Sporting C.P. is a club that respects all the agreements and it's not like others who just throw away to the garbage the compromises that they have made..."we" are a club with honor!!!!! It's time to keep all "our" young players and get others with quality and give a change to others from the "B" team and others that are in loan.I mean that Sporting can build, again, a very competitive squad with players like Quaresma, Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Martins, Custódio, Paíto, Valdir, João Paiva; get rid of players like Jardel, Rui Bento, Hugo, Barbosa and Sá Pinto and try to keep Toñito, Contreras, Beto, Rodrigo Tello,Niculae. Prospects must give good results, and players like Mário Sérgio( if not too expensive) could be a good alternative to the right-back place.

I just want to add that our league is where 'La Liga' was in 1990, if you can remember that far away. We got new stads, new players, interest on the rise... I hope we can keep on the right track. Euro 2004 will also boost our football, especially if we can go as far as the final.
Maybe we won't need another 13 years to catch up with the best european leagues.
Another thing we have to talk about is ou new breed of refs. Man, those young guys are awesome. I enjoy the game so much more when someone like that Army Captain, Pedro Lourenço?, is the referee; they adopted the english philosophy of letting the game run without too much stops. If there's one gripe I have with our traditional refs is the way they are always interrupting to punish things like shoulder barges and almost non-existant contact. That's what really makes things boring for the fans.

so that 3-0 for SCP wont be happening, you will be lucky if you leave Barcelos with a point.Gil Vicente has been so damm impressive this season, and unlike previous years where we asked for SCP or SLB players on loan, we have all Gil players no loans from the big3. Gil president at the begining of the year said he wanted to instead focus on the lower leagues and purchasing good cheap talent that would stay and develop at the Barcelos club.
SCP are sinking lower and lower by the week,can you say Guimaraes 3rd place soon.

Sporting still respect agreement...Boloni stays!!!! bad decision of the referee (he his linked to 5 penaltys in Benfica's season) in the only goal of the game. So he is the "man" of the match!!!!
