No problems Chris!!! You asked for 2 pages...
Anyway, I just wanna say thanks for using some of my stuff such as the shorts, socks and keeper jerseys in PotD! I'm very honoured to have some of my work contained in a brilliant patch!
Who knows - tomorrow there could be 3 pages for this topic!!!

Chris Davies..With the "E"..is that the Welsh version..??..
are you a man from the Valleys...?..The Elland Road Stadium looks like the Older Config, i am about to check the Premier All Stars Version and i will get back to you..man we must be causing your team some headaches and sleepless nights, while you work away on this huge project..

jabj - Just in-case anyone's wandering what jabj's shorts, socks and things are doing in PotD - Well he WAS the FIFA-CS main person (he's now joined us here at Soccer Gaming - WOOHOO!!!), and he made some BRILLIANT English leagues stuff (including a great referee kit - TWO in fact!), and it would be a crime not to have put them in. Plus he's my best mate along with Drinky, plus I'm going to be running his new website here at SG with him! So, jabj, here is my reply to you - I am honoured to have you as my best friend and honoured to have your great, great work in PotD.
3 pages - Hmmm, we'll see - Yesterday I woke up to TEN messages to answer, today just two, so maybe it will take a while longer...

Hunnter - Hehe, well my Dad's quarter Welsh (which is probably why I have such a temper, although he has a worse one than me!), so yes, I guess it might be! I am mainly English though, never lived in Wales (although I live spitting distance away from there!). I thought that about Elland Road, Drinky refuses to change the structure (unless the one he sent me last night has, I've been too busy to check - I doubt it though because when I asked him about it before he said it was "perfect as it is"...) so I'll have to sometime before the release. Talking about sleepless nights and headaches - Well, before even this PC came along, I'd only had one sleepless night - The other night I made the grand total 2 and decided to get up at 4:30am and work - What's the point in waiting for the sun to come up if you're not going to have had any sleep by then and you're doing nothing anyway? I normally go to bed at midnight, but since PotD has come along it's more like, sleep 3am, wake up 8am... As for the headaches, well I suffer from migraines anyway, but last week I broke the record - 11 days in a row I had one! But I still managed to work on PotD, we want this patch finished and out for you public to see!

Well, back to work - BTW, I was working EXTRA late last night and got some very hard work done and dusted with - I still doubt we'll make tonight's release date but I am quite close, we'll have to see...

Hunnter - I'm a Welshman ;o)

Anyway, with the amount of time and effort that Chris is putting into Patch Of The Day, we will expect something really special!

BTW everyone - FEd2000 official site will be online in the next few days!

I believe that the nearest possible to creating Elland Road is to take the East stand of stadium 10 and put in in stadium 3, use the stadium viewer and tell me what you think. All I need now is to know how to do it, I am currently downloading the italian editor, I don't speak italian, but I am going to see how complicated it is.

If I succeed, I'll send you the stadium, I might let you put the right textures with it, as they've already been drawn. That depends on how lazy I am and much time I have.

Phew, i have just spent a few hours checking out the stadiums that are in Premier League Allstars, they are the best set of stadiums that are currently to be seen in any EA football game. i don't know if it would be possible to convert these gems into Fifa 2000, after all there are "only" 89 megs of them in the stadium directory, 78 megs of *.fsh files and 11 megs of *.ssf files..???
If you or any of your team could send me detailed info in regard to converting them over to Fifa 2000, i would certainly give it a go..a nice challenge indeed..and thanks to Phil the Leeds fan for pointing this option out ..in regard to migranes, i used to think that i suffered from that horrible complaint, i later realised that it was all due to sticking my head into the monitor for hours on end, so now i am aware of the danger i can avoid it..or wear sun Glasses..<Joke>......In regard to my mention of that leeds stadium pic, the second player from the left reminded me of the GREAT Johny Giles, who as you probably already know was the Midfield genius who played along side Billy Bremmner and Lorimer and Eddie Gray during the Golden years of Leeds United, if you don't know about him, i am sure that your father or the more mature members of your family will remember him..he had the ability to send a perfectly weighted ball over 35 yards and land it on a ten pence coin, he was amazing to watch, his poise and balance were perfect, i havn't seen anyone compare to him in the last 25 years or so of English football, apart from Tony Currie..who of course played in the same team..

I have many a question for u.

will the patch have extra commentary?

there is reaaly clever stuff u can do with fed2k

1- give commentary to players which don't have their own commentary, but which have similar sounding player commentaries in the game....Confused??

i.e.
G.Weah - no commentary
D.Wier - has commentary,
-> so assinge wier's commentary to Weah

2- some players without have 'namesakes' with commentary (eg J.Zanetti (inter)- no commentary, C.Zanetti (roma) has commentary?

3- also fifa mania has a programme to create FMN commentary files for teams and players. I made many of these files (i impersonated john motsons accent and did player names, or use player commentaries from old games (eg totti and Ginola , both have commentary in fifa99 but not fifa2k)
... but unfortunately i messed around so much, i lost all of the team name commentary in the entire game

... basically will the patch improve commentary???

thanx

chris

P.S. are tranmere changing their kit for next seson, as i am unsure if i shoul buy the away kit???

Cool! or should I say Kewel, given the talk about Elland Road?

Ha Ha Ha

(I'll get my coat....)

Ooh, we were SO close to releasing it today; if I hadn't have had to go to visit my Auntie Grace and Uncle Peter, then you would be seeing a link where to download PotD : TEoaE from now, but alas, I was 44 minutes too late to catch Drinky sending me his final piece of the patch...
Well all I can say to comfort you is that I am prepared to put it in writing (i.e. what you're reading right now
) that tomorrow (morning, probably) it will DEFINITELY be here for you all to download. Just to keep your mouth watering, I played what is nearly the final version today (just a few of Drinky's stadiums missing), and I can tell you that even though the game play hasn't changed and the only things that have really changed are the graphics, it seems like a completely new game!
And also, after playing EURO 2000 and then playing FIFA 2000 with PotD : TEoaE, the only difference I can see is that EURO 2000 has International teams only! So get that copy of FIFA 2000 out again and, just this once, let the dust settle on the new game, as you enjoy the new patch and yet also the end of an era, Patch of the Day : The End of an Era.

The menus are gorgeous, the stadiums are gorgeous, the kits are almost real enough to touch, the stats are all 100% accurate for the last day of the 1999\2000 season (2000\2001 update coming soon - Before the new season starts in-fact!)... Re-live it all again with PotD : The End of an Era, and play the new season before even the real players get a chance to with the 2000\2001 update! Who needs the flair of Europe in a single competition when you can have the flair of English team players of all nationalities playing in 4 different competitions - The F.A. Carling Premiership, the Nationwide League Division One (and in the 2000\2001 update, Division Two and Three as well - That's SIX competitions!), The F.A. Cup and the Worthington Cup - Plus all of the original FIFA 2000 leagues and competitions apart from the MLS intact and updated! And it's all coming to a PC screen near you (in-fact that PC screen is right in-front of your face now!
), SOON (well, tomorrow actually, but SOON sounded better then
)...

Chris,

I sent you a small icq message a couple of days back, but I decided to get off my a$$ and actually register here.

Anyway, I have been visiting this forum for a long time, basically just to see what was going on with POTD. I didn't really want to get involved in any of the slanging matches that were going on, as I know how difficult it is to get something like this going when you are a 'virtual' team of people, doing it in your spare time.

Now it looks like it's finally coming out, I just want to say GREAT WORK!!
I enjoyed your FIFA 99 version, bringing envy to my playstation friend.
Also, it gave the game much greater longevity. You first patch for 2000 was already out when I got the game (things take longer to get here to the Czech Republic
) and I installed it straight away.

Here's hoping it will be here very soon.

Thanks again Chris (and Drinky) for all the hard work
