Ooh, we were SO close to releasing it today; if I hadn't have had to go to visit my Auntie Grace and Uncle Peter, then you would be seeing a link where to download PotD : TEoaE from now, but alas, I was 44 minutes too late to catch Drinky sending me his final piece of the patch...
Well all I can say to comfort you is that I am prepared to put it in writing (i.e. what you're reading right now
) that tomorrow (morning, probably) it will DEFINITELY be here for you all to download. Just to keep your mouth watering, I played what is nearly the final version today (just a few of Drinky's stadiums missing), and I can tell you that even though the game play hasn't changed and the only things that have really changed are the graphics, it seems like a completely new game!
And also, after playing EURO 2000 and then playing FIFA 2000 with PotD : TEoaE, the only difference I can see is that EURO 2000 has International teams only! So get that copy of FIFA 2000 out again and, just this once, let the dust settle on the new game, as you enjoy the new patch and yet also the end of an era, Patch of the Day : The End of an Era.
The menus are gorgeous, the stadiums are gorgeous, the kits are almost real enough to touch, the stats are all 100% accurate for the last day of the 1999\2000 season (2000\2001 update coming soon - Before the new season starts in-fact!)... Re-live it all again with PotD : The End of an Era, and play the new season before even the real players get a chance to with the 2000\2001 update! Who needs the flair of Europe in a single competition when you can have the flair of English team players of all nationalities playing in 4 different competitions - The F.A. Carling Premiership, the Nationwide League Division One (and in the 2000\2001 update, Division Two and Three as well - That's SIX competitions!), The F.A. Cup and the Worthington Cup - Plus all of the original FIFA 2000 leagues and competitions apart from the MLS intact and updated! And it's all coming to a PC screen near you (in-fact that PC screen is right in-front of your face now!
), SOON (well, tomorrow actually, but SOON sounded better then
)...
