setting up the patch. I hope it will release
soon. I am waiting anxiously at the moment.
I have one question. Do the other party need
to install this patch in order to play from
modem? I mean is it necessary for both party
to install the patch in order to play with
each other from modem?

"Le Bodge" - You're welcome, thank you, and I wouldn't lose sleep over it - You know what Drinky's schedule's like from these past messages, it mightn't be up THAT soon... Thanks for your reply!

"jogk" - You are welcome, we hope it will be released soon too, we are anxiously waiting too, and yes it is necessary for both players of a modem league to have PotD : The End of an Era installed on their systems, as with all patches. Thanks for your reply!

"garrysheils" - An FFN file... Erm, a FIFA-Mania commentary file I think, where you can put any .WAV file into an .FFN useable in FIFA 2000! How to edit it? Well you don't edit them, you make them, but I'm afraid I couldn't tell you how to! I tried once before using FEd2000 to get the FFN file to be used for the player\team, but FIFA 2000 just crashed when it came to say it. I think a lot of work has to be done on it before it will work 100% correctly, and maybe then I will be able to do it and I will be able to tell you how to do it... Thanks for your reply!

Chris, will we have to download the original POTD to get this one running, as we did for FIFA 99? (By the way, I tried downloading the Original ESP from the FIFA 99 site last week, but Winzip said it did not hava a valid archive)

Also, will the Newcastle home kit be in 64 colours. If not, I have an absolutely perfect one (not made by me, though) which I am willing to give to the POTD cause (I'm working on an away one too if it's any help).

Just a few quick replies - But first, a personal note... I have just got the FreeServe offer where you pay £10 a month for COMPLETELY FREE Internet (no 'net phone bill charges, etc.), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. I'll be able to come here and reply to messages straight away and also I'll be able to upload PotD : The End of an Era to LOADS of different download locations for easier downloads and make more updates and post them A.S.A.P. Plus, as soon as PotD : The End of an Era has Drinky's part added to it (I haven't seen him in AGES - Drinky, if you're out there, PLEASE E-Mail me or SOMETHING!), it will be posted that very SECOND. WOO-HOO in layman's terms

"steve-e-o" - No, you do NOT have to download the original PotD to be able to play PotD : The End of an Era. That would be a bit of a pain in the arse seeing as the size of both patches put together is practically an entire hard drive

FIFA 99's E.S.P. is corrupt at FIFA 99 Online - I really want to put it up but haven't had the time with phone bills being so expensive - But now it's only £10 a month I will upload it PROPERLY as soon as FreeServe send out the stuff I need to pay £10 a month (some call router thingy). As for the Newcastle kits - 64 colours? 64 COLOURS?!?! Hahahahaha - They are 120+ colours matey

And they are also 100% perfect. By the way, this is just a question I would like you to answer (you seem to be a Newcastle fan) - Is their second kit REALLY white? And do they have a third kit, and what colour is that? Not that I'm making them again for the patch, they are already done, but I was having a discussion with a fellow Tranmere fan and we would be really intrested to know, since when Tranmere played Newcastle in the F.A. I am still anxiously awaiting the patch (Drinky's part anyway) and I agree Drinky should get a move on, but he is very busy and I'll just be glad when he sends them. FIFA 2000 will be seen by all in a new, better and brighter light when PotD is released, I swear, so get the dust off, install it now and get ready - PotD is not far away at all!

I'm sure a few of us here have exams coming up, (I know my A-Level exams are), so we all understand the pressure that you're under Drinky. And perhaps there is another reason that Drinky is taking so long - maybe he's making the stadiums as good as they can possibly be...

Yes, our away kit is indeed white, with little green bits under the sleeves. I remember the Tranmere match, and their white & dark blue was very similar to our Black and White.

No 3rd kit, though next season's away kit is black with light blue trimming (same design as the new Spain away kit, if that helps)

NEWS FLASH

Just got this E-Mail from Drinky. The story behind it is I was on mIRC (he's not on ICQ or any other chat program) trying to talk to him, but I was getting no replies. I thought he was ignoring me or something so I just left with a "sigh". Well today I got an E-Mail and I think you may be pleased (if this is correct and I get Drinky's stuff on Friday, expect a Friday\Saturday\Sunday release date folks!)...

He basically said he wasn't replying because he had mIRC running in the background but wasn't looking at it; He was working on his PotD stuff with a load of editors. Woohoo, thank god

And he said his free time comes to an end on Friday (12th May 2000) and so he will send me what he has been able to complete by then and as for the stuff he hasn't been able to do, I'll try and finish - Unlike poor old Drinky, I have 24 hours 7 days a week free, so I should be able to finish it a lot quicker too

Anyhoo, just thought you may want to know the news! Oh and by the way, if you're thinking of downloading EURO 2000; Patch of the Day with FIFA 2000 is better AND smaller in size AND an update will make it (as soon as all the playoffs in the English leagues are over) 2000\2001 season! Just a thought...
