I agree and disagree. Yes, of course you want softer leather, but he was talking about the toe area. Speaking from experience as I own a pair of F-50s the toe area seems to be a weakness, maybe because it is too soft. After only 3 weeks one of the toes in my cleats started opening up and I have also got the "speed lacing cover" torn as well, it is very thin leather and the "cover" is not exceptionally durable. On the other hand my old vapors lasted me almost 2 years and were very durable. That said they are still good boots, but I think that the Pulses are a better overall choice and should also last longer. I know that my brother got a lot of mileage from his manias.

I just bought the Silver and Black F-50s. I tried on the preds and also Nike Vapors and Total 90's but the F-50s feel the best. I played with them for a while today and they're great. I reccommend them.

The F-50s also come with 3 different soles, or pads, Comfort(name says it all), Pro(a mix of the other two, and a thrid sole...it may be firm but im not sure.

I just got a pair of Umbros a month or two ago....but i may get the f-50s because i like them so much.

I think the next boots i will buy will most likely be the metal studs f-50's or a pair of those kangaroo leather nike vapors :D

I have the silver Pulses, and like all predators, the are great. Excellent fit and touch. The only thing i dont like about it right now is that the length of the laces are about as long as a pair of hockey skates. But that'll be fixed when i go at them with scissors.

The F-50 is supposed to be good for some, but a lot of people have been going back to the predator after using the F-50. The fit may be great for some, but not all.

Also if you do try on a pair of F-50's, you should make sure the bulkiest insole isn't in the boot. There have a been a lot of problems with people buying the wrong size. They'll buy it after trying it on without knowing that the bulkiest insole is in the boot. Then later on they may switch to a smaller insole and find that their boot no longer has the fit that they bought the size for.

Im biased to recommend the Pulses, but i really do think they're great. However, since you are a forward, the F-50's might be nice to tryout.

You get what you pay for.

I get expensive ones and use them for two seasons, but then again im a keeper so I don't see as much action as everyone else. Even then though, imho it's better than buying another pair for 80$ next season.

same here, my last pair of preds lasted me over 2 seasons in net. Around 2 years, being used extremely hard and very often.

The only problem i had was that the right sole seperated from the shoe. I've glued it back, so maybe theres still some life in it.

So more money = better quality.
