"Benfica presidential candidate Jaime Antunes says that he will sign Manuel Rui Costa from Milan if he gets elected."

actually jaime antunes wasn't the only candidate that promised rui costa. guerra madaleno (the other) promised rui costa and told that are in negociations with rivaldo. he talk with both players in vigo (this is true because the newspaper "record" took pictures of the meeting)
i personally don't believe in this guys. in every election in benfica rui costa are always involved in promises by someone...
:kader:

BTW the actual president is Manuel Vilarinho that didn't recandidate.
the candidates are Luis Filipe Vieira (actual president of Benfica PLC), Jaime Antunes and Guerra Madaleno (the clown):crazyboy:

i don't see this really happening. though i'd like to see nakata leave parma and play for a bigger club. the parma manager pretty much hates him, continues to play him on the right where he's ineffective, and won't play him in the middle if his life depended on it.

but if he goes to milan in exchange for rivaldo, he'll still be behind the pecking order, behind rui costa and kaka.

yes, and i think he did very well :clapwap:
this bastards like madaleno just want publicity...

BTW he looks like a mafioso or something with that face LOL:evil:

Rui Costa, Luis Figo, Hélio and Fernando Couto are the "BRAINS" of the so called "Geração de Ouro"...that will be nice if those great players returne to Portugal, but in good shape. So i don't think that it will be good if they came to Portugal with 32,33,34 years-old. In that case i will prefer the Portuguese clubs to take their chances in the "cantera" where they could take some future credits. I should remind you that Rui Costa and Paulo Sousa ( the two last big names from Benfica's youth schools) they were produts of PROSPECTIONS made by some guys that have an important job in clubs...the prospection is the future, and clubs like the three Bigs in Portugal can win a HUGE amount of money returning to that "way of live" - Sporting is already making this job well donne (Cristiano ronaldo came from Nacional da Madeira at the age of...11)...

"reports emanating from JAPAN..."

the japanese don't have a player based in europe who has started more than 10 games per season. they desperately want nakata to be linked with a bigger club seeing as how milan is more familiar to them than say.. parma.

anyway it's a shame he's going to waste, because him and nakamura (is that him? the young winger) are the best japanese players to date, not counting the veteran striker (forgot his name).

oh, and nakata's sitting on a fat paycheck too. maybe he'll turn out like winston bogarde?

at least last season, nakata and nakamura have started the majority of the games. this season, nakata, takahara and inamoto have started almost every game so far. just nakata hasn't played a whole game yet, it seems. nakamura's a player though. i think, of the japanese european contingent, he's the best player.

yeah, me too....:kader: I would much sooner vote for a candidate who promised to invest in youth and areas that the club needed most, instead of using Rui Costa's name just because it means guarenteed votes.
