The writers of Prison Break said that they have already planned for only 2 seasons. With season 1 being in prison, and season 2 being out of prison, after which all wrong is corrected.

However, given the show's success, they decided to change elements in the 2nd half of season 2 to pave way for season 3.

It's easy to imagine how the original season 2 would have ended, from what actually was shown.

Lincoln and Sara exonnerated.
Micheal's initial sentence removed (as the judge in the Series Pilot was inclined to, before Scofield's "no contest" plea), with the help of the Governer's friend.
Kim killed, and Mahone runs away.

However, the writers changed very few details that gave a way for Season 3 to happen. Sona was not mentioned at all in the 1st half of season 2. It changed everything and gave way for a brand new story.

Now those last 5 mins in season 2 looked like a scene from Waterworld. I mean are there no courts in Panama? No legal system? Of course there is.

A man shot another one in self-defense on gunpoint. Kim's body along with Kim's gun are in the sea. Are there no grounds at all for a non-guilty plea? Or at least a lightened sentence? But not 1st degree murder.

What about Mahone (charged for drug-trafficing) being thrown in the same jail as Micheal?

Now finally, the "General" at the all-white research facility. Is Season 3 going sci-fi? What's that talk about "We want him to break out". Are they conducting some sort of psychological research, or some "prison-improvement" facility? They couldn't have meant they want him out so they can kill him. Because getting killed in this place is the easiest thing to make happen. That "bigger military sci-fi plan" look left me uneasy.

Micheal summed it all when he said "My brother's been exonerated, the President stepped down. We're not a threat anymore." This is what it's all about.

Breaking out of any other prison, be it Sona, will never be as charismatic or nearly as good as Fox River. Because there is no plan. No tattoo. Nothing. That was what made Season 1 amazing.

That talk at the New York military research facility looked so much out of this show. It was not like PB at all. I hope Season 3's pilot would be as strong as season 1's pilot, because this is a brand new story they're starting.

An interesting theory is that there may be someone in Sona who is important for the company, and they want Micheal in there to break him out. Which is actually not that good because Micheal's company designed Fox River, not every prison on the planet. Well I guess it's theory time till August.

Speaking of theory time, I hope HE is wrong:

G0RD0NFR33M4N:
You guys aren't putting the pieces together. You can't base everything off the story line alone. You need to look at the personalities and abiliteis of the two brothers.

All this stuff is a test. Look at the two brothers. Both are physicaly capable, both are very analytical. Link obviously far superior physicaly, and Schofield posesing superior analytical thinking. BOTH are extremely loyal. BOTH have superior reasoning abilities, BOTH astay calm as a buddhist cow under extreme pressure, BOTH are subjects of genetic experiments; oposite ends of the spectrum who share similair abilities. Link being the more aggresive "soldier" type and Schofield being the analytical "soldier". Paired up at early childhood to develop a bond that could be created artificially if both were brought up under military control. EVERYTHING in there lives has been a test with decisions swayed by outside influences. They KNEW schofield would attempt to break link out because they knew that bond, that loyalty, combined with an outside influence would leave him no choice.

Mahoney is just another pawn in the game. the fact that they told him to take out all 8 means nothing except the company wanted an authentic test of schofields abilities. If mahone succeded, their experiment was a failure, If Schofield makes it, it's another success. It wasn't until they decided schofield was the successful experiment (of the two) that they decided Link was of no use. It wasn't until they knew where schofield was going they decided to set up the ultimate test with SONA. Which is why they tried several times to set him up, when they had every chance in the world to take him out in panama.

both of them are desinged to be the ultimate soldier, not to break out of prisons. There is nothing the company wants in SONA other than for schofield to break out so they can declare their experiment a success. there is only one thing this "company" cares about and that is securing a goverment contract for geneticaly altered soldiers. That is was t-bag knew (to some extent).

As far as who else is involved in the testing, who knows. t-bag could be a failed experiment (that is pushing it a bit far). If i had to make an assumption, Besides the general, Mr. Kim was probably the only one who knew even a little and that probably wasn't even that much.

This was based on the research facility, the "general", the "white-coats", the "it's in his blood to escape" and "that's what we want him to do".

I was stunned by these last 5 mins. And not in a good way...

The IGN review mentiones a theory close to that:

I'm pretty confident that that's not what the writers meant. I read a few crazy rumours of the same sort as well. People, just think too much into it.

Well I hope there turns out to be a much better explanation regarding the white-coated General at the military research facility, and the dialogue in this scene. One thing is for sure, the General at the research facility was planning for Micheal to end up in Sona all the way.

This would be no worse than Carlos Bauer discovering he's an alien.

According to the episode summary of "Sona" on wikipedia, SONA actually stands for "Scientific Observation of Neural Adjustments"...

haha, they've got us all wetting our pants (H)

this show has reached the point we're they could put an entire episode of Dominic Purcell taking a dump and i would think it's genius:Bow:

well, episode 22 was great
sona was finally revealed and it doesn't look too good
but scofield and mahone working together will surely break out of sona
relatively to the general, this poses a lot of questions that now we can only wonder about the answers
some of those theorys might be right, but might also be completely wrong...
will have to wait till fall (so many months) to see what happens

PB is definitely one of the best (if not the best) shows ever!

what a super finale! easily the best of season 2, which pretty much sums up how boring season 2 generally was.

anyway, Knight, you cannot compare this eventual escape to the escape out of Fox River (with the tatoos and all), obviously this escape will feature a different side of Michael's super brain and the prospect of him teaming up with Mahone? damn!!!

btw,

As much as I'm compelled to comment on season 6, I'll let u see it for urself :) But it's nice...

But this whole genetic testing facility really got me worried about the future of PB. I was really enjoying the fact that Micheal is a genius structural engineer who got his hands on Fox River blueprints and broke in and out of it with his brother, who was framed because of some oil conspiracy.

But this whole "General" thing saying it's in his blood to escape, and that's what they want him to do... well totally sucks for me. It all made sense before that. I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for the pilot of season 3 to find answers.

I hope that other new actress doesn't replace pregnant Sarah in terms of screen time. Sarah's character is simply unreplacable.

And I hope Sucre quickly finds his happy ending. He worked so hard for it.

well Scheuring said Sara is going to 'disappear' for a while, and that's going to be by the time Sarah Callies delivers, but he said the character wont be kidnapped...so let's wait..

about season three, i'm not only going to wait for the pilot, because that isn't answering any of the questions left in the air..that's the thing, if we want to find out everthing about the company, the bastards are going to keep us waiting all season 3 :(

just my two cents..

What if the new actress is Alba? Doubt too many of you will complain about the absence of Sarah then.

The "Sona" summary at FOX's official webpage said the General stepped into a room full of "caged animals".

This unfortunately reinforces the whole 'genetic testing' theory about the company.

So, indeed it was Bellick that got the **** beat out of him in Sona. Also the recap confirms that Kim is dead, however it never wrote that Kellerman is actually dead as well.

Ppl keep saying that it was the guards that were shot and that he's alive... it would be thrilling of course, but I really don't think he wasn't shot.

He is dead, his final speech indicated he was. And it's a well-crafted closure for this character. I mean he's almost the only on PB who actually had a closure.

The reason his death was off-screen is that it was much more dramatic, IMO.

I didn't recognize Bellick either till I read the discussions that followed...

That's exactly what i think about Kellerman too, since they got took all their shots and ran away from the van.

However, from past experiences with Prison Break, you never know. When Abruzzi got his throat cut, we thought it was it, when Mahone got shot some people thought he was killed too, when Sara was being drowned, when C-Note hang himself it looked like he was dead as well, but then he was back next episode. Usually the director would show the body of a person that is dead and when they don't show it, the characters would come back. At least most of the time. So you never know, but i agree that i would be really surprised if Kellerman still lives.
