Problem with Mozilla

if i want to check my email and go to yahoo, gmail or something, it says "operation has timed out".. but when i do it on internet explorer it works fine.. is there something wrong with my mozilla settings or something?

do you accidentally change the connection setting behind proxy or firewall?
