Problems in Professional mode

Okey. I've been playing a while in semi-pro and beat the crap out of every opponent. It was time to move on til pro-level. But that was not easy....

I hope to get som help and tips to manage this level. I play with a PC with the keyboard.

My main problems are:

- The defense. The opponent comes alone with my goalkeeper at least 10-15 times during a game. It seems like I have no defense at all.

- Passing. I often reach the other players, but the CPU is there right away and often grabs the ball before I can controll it, while the CPU passes like crazy and moves away from me immediately after recieveing the ball, I can't figure out how to stop these passes from the CPU. I score most of my goals after corners and throw-ins and thats boring...

- Tricks. I only know one trick, that is SHIFT and SPACE, seems like the player does the same thing with these two.

I would appreciate a little explanation on how to manage Pro-level in general. Thanx in advance.

The reason your opponent is getting breakaways is because you are drawing your own defenders off of their man.... For example if a midfielder is running down the field you might pull a defender off his man to go take on the midfielding... and now there is no one to defend the foward that your man was covering. Also if you slide tackle and dont gain the ball it basically takes your player out of the play for the next 5 seconds or so... which gives anyone ample time to make a run...

As for the passing, you should only be passing to open players... use the player run key often.. and try lobbing it ahead of a breaking player to make a breakaway.

Also the single skill move that you are talking about will juke any defender if you use it in the right way :)

Indeed, drawing a player out in offence is the most effective way of breaking down the defense- however, when your the defense it is annoying as hell. So...

Keep your back line where it should be, at the back. Make sure you have competent tacklers as your midfielders and use them for the most part. When a player breaks away and your coming towards him hold down tackle so you can back track and intercept. If you are behind or to the side of the player breaking away, sprint and hold down tackle once more to get up beside them and take the ball.

There is never really a need to slide tackle unless...
You tackle to block a shot, or you dislike the player and want to injure him :P

Dont try and pass too long because more often than not your not going to get it to the player or when it gets to him he is already tagged by a defender. So short passes to close players works fine. Just keep pushing back and forth tiny bits- its tedious but it works.

I never EVER bother with tricks- I can achieve everything i need with a controller. Which leads me to my final point, dont play it with a keyboard :P Go out and get a cheapo controller or something, the keyboard is just not good enough for this game.

And thats about all I have to add, i find little to no challenge on World Class so those tips have gotta help ;)

World class seems to be easier to me than professional.. the ai seems to pass better and tackle better in pro, but maybe thats just me :P
