Read the reviews of WE9:JL.

The crowd is back!

WTF? Two months after the launch of PES5 with hardly any freaking crowd, all of a sudden it's back again in a new and improved (if the reviewers on Evo-Web and the other forums are anything to go by) version.

Am I the only one who thinks it sucks that Konami dish out the crappiest version every year to the Western World but concentrate on making version after version for the Asian market. Ok, so it's their own market but this is a big time snub. Everybody is saying it's improved in a lot of different areas from shooting to animations, etc.

Are you trying to tell me Konami suddenly made the game so much better is 8 weeks??? No way. They were working on this better version before PES5 was even released. No doubt WE9:I (if they even release it now - it's December and still no official word) will be an exact clone of PES5 with no crowd, etc.

Fanboys, f*** off replying to this and let's have some sensible interpretations of Konami's marketing strategy or purpose for providing Europe with the worst versions while knocking out at least two better versions within months in Asia.

Spring, I bet they don't even touch WE9:I untill it's due out in 2 weeks, after all the different between this and PES5 is very little, if any when you think about it.

But yea I agree, how can these fanboy idiots say they took the crowd out because the PS2 couldn't handle the game, or the game sucks because the PS2 can't handle it, what now?

As you said, it is amazing how the PS2 could handle the crowd, then couldn't for PES5 but now can again.

Konami are just dirty, people have the cheek to say FIFA just wants the money, I mean you see what, 1 FIFA game a year and a WC version every 4 years? yet with Konami you see about 3 versions each year, hmmm.

It's like Konami make WE and then translate the language and spend 5 hours changing the game about and release it without even testing it, then they bring out another Japanese only version like LE and now the JL which is always better than PES4-5 or WE8-9, then they get PES and spend a few hours modifying it and release it 6 months later under a new name for the American people.

Now to anyone with half a brain, this is utter robbery, I guarantee if FIFA did this everyone would be having a mass fit, yet for a game you like it's ok?

PES4, WE8, WE8:I, WE8:LE and WE:JL. 5 games that don't exactly offer much that the previous versions didn't, what next?

Wakeup fanboys...........

Konami always snubbed us with their Japan exclusive release. WE6FE got new player models and enhanced graphics and gameplay while WE6I was given a new title screen from PES2 and it was called a new game. WE8LE was one hell of a jump from PES4, specific numbers, better edit mode, much better gameplay, which was amazing considering it was released about a month after WE8I came out for the North American market. Point is, all the stuff or atleast most of the stuff in WE8LE should have been in WE8I, but it wasn't. Sad thing it is.

The worst thing is that for the PC version PES5/ WE9:I can be easely updated to the latest and improved japanses version with an official patch from Konami. But they don't even care...
Its true that Konami should care more about us, western continents players, since I can not believe that Japan is the biggest market for their PES/WE game.

While you are at it, why don't you also ask Square Enix why Final Fantasy X NTSC-J has an install option for the HDD? Why don't you ask M$ why they neglect the European market? Why don't you ask SCEE, who owns the exclusive rights to Formula 1, why they don't release the F1 games in America? Or why SCEE also doesnt release the WRC games in America?

KONAMI IS THE DEVIL!!! <end sarcasm>

You guys make me laugh with your hissyfits. Don't worry about what the other kids have. Look at what you have and ask yourself. Do I enjoy playing this game? Besides it's not like territorial snubbing is a new thing. I remember back when I, the American gamer, had more features in my FF7 than the Japanese gamer. PES5 kicks so much ass on a gameplay level that I'm surprised you get so bent out of shape over inconsistent crowds.

So as an American gamer, you don't feel a little pissed that given Konami committed to releasing the series in the United States, that 6 months to release an exact copy of PES5 is a problem, when there's already a better version out almost 4 months prior to the US release?

People mod their PS2 consoles on a large scale just to get the Japanese WE series each year a few months earlier than the PES games. Yet, if we complain in North America in having to wait 8 months after the original WE and 6 months after PES, we're "impatient"! You know as well as I do, Konami have their titles pirated because people don't want to wait 2 months, etc. for a game. A worldwide release (at least a small staggered release) would solve a lot of that problem. How many people would bother downloading WE if PES came out at the same time and they could get it in their stores? Of course some people would because some people wouldn't pay $5 for anything.

Konami have the worst PR department ever, even the hardcore fanboys on here have admitted that. I just think this year, to have released a new version so soon after PES is really taking the piss. Normally, they've at least waited until Spring to release their new incarnation in Japan but all this shows for a fact is that they were making WE9:JL before PS5 had even been shipped and they deliberately left the crowd bug in. PES5 is nothing but a beta and 6 months later, here in the USA, we get the same dang beta version around the same time as Konami release yet another version of theg ame in Asia, even more improved!!!

Perhaps when the series finally goes next gen. (and people realize that no-region coding for the PS3 doesn't mean you'll be able to play games from any region because software companies very, very rarely make their console games no-region) and the European games face the problem where they can't play the latest versions anymore, it'll be more of an issue.

I was just showing that this is something that is normal with all companies.

It's a practice that SOME companies have and they get rightly attacked on the appropriate forums for it.

If you look at your F*** Electronic Arts signature, it says "F*** Their Promises" and "F*** Their Support" yet I don't feel that Konami has given us any more truth with regards to either promises or support.

If you look at the European PES5 Konami website in their "advertisement" for the game, it specifically says "new leagues" but there were no new leagues this year at all. It says the same on the link that I gave earlier in the post for WE9:International, "new leagues", yet there are no new leagues from last years version. A few additional teams but no new leagues!!!

As for support. It's obvious they have the crowd bug problem solved now (in WE9:JL) so why can't they at least release a fix for the PC version of the game. Is it acceptable to have that same bug in WE9:I which is still 4 months from release?

I basically give Konami this crap and stir it because this community has gone too soft on them. People who have worked for big companies (not that there's many of those on this particular forum which seems to have been invaded by 14 year old over the last 6 months!) will tell you that they listen to general vibes in the community about their product and some may do specific research, including forums, to get feedback. If me and a few other people on this forum never opened our mouths, Konami would only ever think the game is 100% perfect every year. I'm happy to be a sounding bell if it gives at least a small chance it might make some change. 14 year old fanboys using too many z's and poor English replying "oh, you suck at the game" or "this game rockz - it's perfect" will never implement any change in the series.

I want the game to be better but I know it won't be if everybody has their noses so far up Konami's ass that they think they can smell paradise.

If I didn't have PES5 on my PC, yeah, it would bug me a little. But I would soon forget about it since I play alot of other games too. There are so many good games on PS2 and now my Xbox 360 that I don't even think about the games I'm waiting for. Now if WE/PES is the only game you play, then I can understand the impatience.

How many copies of WE8 did your local Gamestop have when it was released this year? Mine had two. They only had one copy of WE7 the year before and that was my preorder. Notice how UK shops get alot more copies of PES5. I think you see where I'm going with this. There is a bigger demand and more revenue in the European and Japanese markets for the PES/WE series.

The majority of American gamers don't even know what a free kick is. Then there are those in between that may have played soccer in high school gym class and want a soccer game for there console. You know they'll buy Fifa for it's brand name and EA logo. "Gee, EA makes Madden, so this should be a fun soccer game." Those of us that truly understand and love soccer in this country are still a minority. And even then 2/3 of that minority probably aren't gamers. Konami caters to those that pay their bills. I think it's safe to say most companies do that.

Unless soccer all of a sudden becomes popular in America, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Why you don't write Konami UK an Email? I wrote Konami Germany an Email. We need many User which give Konami a Feedback, if the community don't make it Konami will never changed their strategy

PES5 had minor, easily fixed/tuned gameplay issues that caused MAJOR annoyances. So yes I believe that 2 months is far more than enough to fix these small issues after all the negative feedback from all the PES/WE forums I've seen so far.

Last year, PES4 had major player balance issues, and that was fixed in a far less period of time, when WE8i was released. They do it all the time.

It's not like they're gonna introduce a new feature or change the crappy ML... they only tune it to the better. And the overall result is a major improvement.

But last year WE8 had some pretty significant improvements in terms of performance and some other stuff over PES4 so I don't think they are just repackaging the European version for N.America. That said, I do agree with you. There is just no excuse for 1. releasing all these different regional versions and 2. not always keeping code parity with all the versions.

I guess since lots of people in Europe and the America's import these games it makes sense to not improve the later released versions of each year so that all the poor hardcore fans end up buying all 3 rather than buying one and getting patches that Konami should be releasing. So if thats the case well then fu-q Konami!

Both are money hungry companies. Well wth, most companies are since companies main purpose are to earn money. doh.

But there are others there do really care about their consumer alongside earning money though I'm not sure of any to name of. :chew:
