PSP getting crushed by NDS in Japan

Nintendo DS - 91,379 units
PlayStation 2 - 80,886 units
GameBoy Advance SP - 17,443 units
GameCube - 13,423 units
GameBoy Micro - 11,818 units
Xbox 360 - 7,477 units
GameBoy Advance - 564 units
Xbox - 156 units

with NDS shortages in Japan the PSP finally ends the 37 week run of NDS at the top. its funny that no PSP software is selling at the moment. makes you wonder why people are really buying the PSP.

Nintendo of Japan has recently concluded its DS press conference with Japanese media this morning. Updating our previous exclusive update, here is what we know thus far:

New Super Mario Brothers will be slated for a May Japan-release, at a price of 4800 yen.

Furthermore, Tetris DS will be slated to release at a 3800 yen budget price.

The Opera Web browser add-on has been confirmed for DS. In addition to this, the browser will not be firmware.

The anticipated 1Seg Digital TV Card add-on was also announced.

Calligraphy Training DS is in the works.

Shown were footage of Children of Mana and Xenosaga as well, both expected to be USA-bound DS releases.

Also revealed was the news of cooking software for the DS.

Other Japanese-probable-only releases include brief talk about Super Robot Wars, Dynasty Warriors and Winning Eleven, all for the DS.

not a chance. you can pick up 360's all over over japan with ease. some shops have even dropped the price to £140 from £180. 360 has flopped in Japan.
