Hey guys, its been a while
Going beyond the scope of editing FIFA 14 for the PC (btw welcome back Rinaldo - we've missed you) and waiting for some tools to edit it, I started looking into the mobile version of FIFA 14 iOS & Android.
Is anyone looking (or would be interested to look) into the encryption of the .fsh, .big files for this platform? I know this might be a touchy subject for some, I personally think it would be fantastic to edit this as well
Here are my finds so far:
iOS edition - The iOS version seems to be the most promising platform for editing. The file structure is a bit similar to the PC version (it does have some differences of course).
The good news: The db seems to be editable (thats always a plus). Banners, flags & adbords seem to have the same type of setup we've seen in the PC version. Kits are a bit different as they include items like the "kit numbers" in it. Best way to describe the kits would be the old early 2000 FIFA versions (low and high rez kits - if anyone can remember those days). Wasnt able to see much beyond that (due to the different file encryption/compression). INI files for the AI etc etc can be edited.
The bad news: Just like in the FIFA 13 version, the various files .fsh & .big are encrypted (using a hex editor I noticed the first string was EB... ). None of the PC editing tools (for graphics at least) are able to see inside these files. And when I mean none, I mean NONE. FIFA 13 had some uncompressed files (which I was able to read) but not knowing the file structure inside the big files, well that makes it hard to do anything.
Android edition - The Android version poses some challenges as far as editing goes. Unlike the iOS version which you can look into the file structure of the app, it uses an .OBB file. Not being able to extract of view its contents makes it (at least for now) almost impossible to mod. In some cases, this file can be extracted by renaming it as a zip file. This method did not work.
If anyone would like to help, please let me know.
