First off, I'm playing PES 2 via the ePSXe emulator on the PC. I have two different controllers that both have D-pads, analog sticks, and at least 8 buttons.
Question 1: Do the R2/L2 buttons do anything on this version? I've looked at the control list at http://www.evo-web.co.uk/game.proevolutionsoccer2.controls.shtml, and I'm assuming this covers the PS2 version. However, I cannot seem to pull off ANY R2/L2 maneuvers in THIS version. Also, the single * mentions something about selecting 'YES' in the 'Press repeatedly for loops shoot 2' in the config menu. Maybe I'm blind, but I cannot find this setting?
Question 2: Does using the analog stick help at all when aiming shots or passes, or does it default to one of the 8 directions on the D-pad (thus losing the benefit of being analog)? When taking a shot, does the direction matter at all? I'm new to the game and still unlearning all my old FIFA habits, so I'm not generating a ton of chances on goal yet. But when I do, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to where the shot ends up. I do know that if I hold the shoot button for too long, it won't be accurate at all, so that's not my problem in this case.
I'm sure more questions will surface as I go deeper into this fantastic game. Thanks for your help!
