Wow, lets be honest konami ****ed up. You need a $200 graphics card to play a ps2 port at a decent res. Not even speaking about the rest of your setup. And dont give me that **** that thats normal. So a soccer game needs better specs then games like halo, max payne 2 , unreal 2003 etc.. . Thats the biggest pile of bs ive ever heard. And even if you have a great setup, there is absolutly not guarentee the game will work as it should . Konami should either not produce for the pc platform, or do it properly . Porting games shows a complete lack of respect for pc gamers since they obviously dont think they are important enough to build a game specific for pc's Oh, and also, i hate fifa, so dont give me the crap that i am a fifa fanboy either. And dont you dare atack me on the fact that i dont have money to spend on superexpensive setups either. Just covering myself for the **** im probebly gonna get here ;)
$33 dolars for a messed up port that requires tweakings of graphic card and audio settings not to get slowdowns or speedups is crazy. To be honest, for 90% of the people it would be better just to buy a ps2, much less hassle and much less expensive.

the man above me is right.
it's just insane that you need about 200$ for video card, and even this guarentees nothing for you.

Not all Geforce FX cards are the same. Just like not all Geforce 4 cards were the same. The Geforce 4 MX was utter crap, and the same goes for Geforce FX 5200. Geforce 4 Titaniums are many times better than this card. If you need a good cheap card, go for a Radeon 9600 pro. Notice the PRO, it's very important.

Edit: Just checked the prices out for 9600, they're not as cheap yet, so perhaps a Geforce 4 Ti 4200 would be a better bet.

you dont need a 200$ video card!!!!!!
i have a gf4ti4200 wich costs about 80-100$ ... and the game runs perfect on it.. geforce FX is crap - especially the lower versions (5200) are really really bad.. and the graphic performance doesnt depend on how much RAM you have on your graphics card!!:kader:

Yeah, I have this card and the game runs great at the lowest res and low quality settings (which basically is still better than the PS2 quality) but given every other game I own runs perfectly at max detail on a super high res I'd say the problem lies more with the port of the game than with the FX5200 card. Let's be honest, with the specs the card has it should kill PES3 but it struggles like crap with it but it will run anything else as good as you want it.

I'm betting not all your other games need to be run at a constant 60 fps to maintain the correct gamespeed. Thats where the problems lies, its the most idiotic thing to do making the speed dependant on fps.
If they are going for multiplayer in PES4, they will 100% certain have to fix this issue.

No offense to noone, but next time you buy a graphic card, I advise you to read some reviews first.

The Geforce FX5200 is not that great and when directX 9.0 games start coming out more and more you will see what I mean.

Another tip: don't be misled by cards that have 256MB of RAM on it. The type/speed of the RAM is often more important than the quantity. 128MB is more than enough to run the latest games. You see, there are different companies that bring the same card on the market. Some choose to bring a 256MB version of it too, but that card could have slower RAM in it than the 128MB version of another company. Most 'unknowing' people will go for the 256MB version that costs only as much as the 128MB version of the other company, not knowing that they're being scr*wed, because the other card is much better! 256MB of RAM only comes in handy on a very fast card that can handle that much RAM, or when you edit much video and stuff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are just tips for people that are looking for a new graphics card.

Finally: I'd recommend:
- Hercules (or Sapphire) Radeon 9600 Pro 128 MB
- Hercules Radeon 9800 128 MB (can be softmodded to a Pro version if you wanna take the risk ;) )
- Hercules or Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB (for the die-hard gamers :) )

Why no Geforce in this list? I guess it's just a matter of taste and budget. Geforce FX cards are more expensive than their Radeon concurrents and deliver worse results in most game-benchmarks, but don't get me wrong, there are some good Geforce's out there too. But if you're a gamer I wouldn't go for anything less than a FX5600 (and than you should even go for the Ultra version).

Now I'll shut up and go back waiting for my new AMD XP2800+ with my new Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro in it, to arrive, to play this marvelous game with :rockman:

But the cards I mentioned are not really 'cheap' ;)
The Radeon 9600 Pro costs around 180 euro here in Belgium so...
The 9800 is about 310 and the 9800 Pro 400 euro

But 180 euro is affordable for most people I guess and then you'll have a decent card.

well over the weekend i wen to Best Buy and bought ATI Radeon 9600 XT 128 MB DDR AGP 8X/4X with a receipt for Half-Life 2 when it comes out:rockman: :D This all coast me 212.00 dollars so its a good buy for me:) ( No me parents didnt give me the money, i work hard for my money;) ) Anyways rest of my comp specs are 2.5 gigahertz, 500 something ram ( to lazy to check how much it exactly is ). With all this i run PES 3 on 1280 x 1024 on high quality and its runs perfect, no pausing or slowing down and the graphics are ace:)

To answer RIISE: the Radeon 9200 is more or less equal to a FX5200 so I doubt that you can run the game on high resolutions or high detail.

Zidane's 9600 XT is a little bit better then the 9600 Pro so I guess the game will run smooth on a 9600 Pro.

I advice you to give a little bit more money on a good card, then buy an average card that needs to be replaced after a year. Believe me, it's worth it.
