The offsides rules states (ofcourse I'm paraphrasing) that when the attacking player gets the ball, there should be atleast two players inbetween him/her and the goal line. Now in most cases that is the last defender and the goal keeper. But in the case of Raul's goal infront of goal, the keeper was out of goal, raul was left with the defender so when Zizu headed the ball down to raul, there was only one defender between him and the goal line. Great call by the officials!! Too bad no one notices when it's a great call, if it is a missed call everyone lynches the refs.

My thoughts about the game...Milan came to play, Madrid came to defend. They were lacking ideas (Madrid), not much possesion, not too many chances created. Milan played like they wanted to win. They had the chances, they were hungry. Madrid played for a tie. Oh well, good game overall.

just a correction, it's from when the ball is passed, not when he gets the ball;)

Great first half. Milan started good, created things. Then Real took over and had the best of the play, but didn't create any real chances. Second half wasn't as good as the first. Real was nowhere to be seen and Milan kept in control, should have scored another I think. Figo s*cked again tonight. I think he should retire because for how long has he been playing bad now, something like over a year or so?

Thanks for the correction on my silly mistake. In my illustration I even said it was when Zizu headed the ball, but for some reason my rule interpretation didn't carry that. Thanks though.

Rui Costa's assist to Sheva was absolutely fantastic. It looked like one of those crazy curved superstar passes from FIFA WC2002...:confused:

That's really what Milan needed. :) They were better side and they got their goal from Sheva. Annndd... Rui Costa was pretty good in this game, his master class pass to Shev made the goal. :)
