well, i saw the whole match and here is my report... we missed too many chances in the first half and early second half, especially in the first, owen missed tons of good opportunity and heskey miss a one v one early in the 2nd half and should have scored... both crystal palace goals was a great one, although the 2nd goal was an own goal by henchoz..

as for the match ... what can i say very dissapointing but on the other hand we may end up better off for it .. means we have more time to concentrate on getting ourselves back for the league and into Champions league contention ... be it Chrystal Palace or Man utd who defeated us i didnt think we would win the cup any way... gives us three free weekends ( not including replays more)
Arsenal fans are supposed to hate Liverpool and Manure, not my fault they lost, United was able to beat a premiership opponet, and Arsenal beat a non-league team, fact of the matter is they both moved on. If Liverpool were a better team they would've finished over a lower league team in the first game, don't bitch at me because we're in the cup, CL too, and you're out.
I'm not slagging off, but the fact is, there never should've been a replay for this game, Liverpool are capable of scoring goals...they scored on Arsenal, they should be able to score on Palace.
Maybe Cchow is right....Owen should be benched as, you havee players that can fill in for him.
Liverpool will be lucky to walk off with the league cup, and Manure in current form that's no easy task, they need to do some serious retooling the summer. If the win UEFA cup it will be something, because the best chance they have in the league is the 4th CL spot, and they'll have to wrestle Chelsea for it, and Chelsea is a damn fine team.
Look what a team can do when it has it's head on right, two prime examples are Southampton and Everton.

It's a sin for an Arsenal supporter.
On the other hand, I think it's shameful to ask for Owen to be dropped. There's just something nasty, disloyal, and ungrateful about that.
Look at the bright side though, now Houllier and the boys can concentrate on getting to the Champions League and I personally believe they can.
I say that because the only game I felt we were second best was that home game against Liverpool.
On another note, I may be blind but Diouf and Cheyrou (hope that's correct), look like pretty good players to me.
Diouf did a great job against Ashley Cole, limiting him to only two attacks and one cross. And to think he is playing in a position he rarely plays, I THINK HE IS A GOOD BUY.
Cheyrou just looks like he has skill, maybe he is not confident, maybe his team-mates don't have confidence in him, but there are times when he just looks the business. You know what I mean, he just seems to have extra time on the ball............whatever

i can't believe you find a 'Bright Spot' amidst all this ...
and whats the use of just qualifying for the CL ? to be dumped out once again ? and don't tell me that its for the money - The real money in the CL starts only when you qualify for the 2nd stage...which they won't....at this rate anyway. And no they won't even qualify for the CL anyway. Arsenal , ManU , chelsea and Newcastle will go thru instead.
This could have been one thing (albeit a minor consolation) that Liverpool could have realistically challenged for.....but NO ! they go and lose to Crystal Palace......AT HOME !
And yes, even when the greatest of players are going through a horrible phase, they should be dropped for a couple of games to give them time to gather themselves and work their way out of the proverbial ditch.
Diouf doesn't contribute enough either. Baros does well when the team does well. He's too hot n cold. Cheyrou dissapoints wayyy to many times. Heskey gives his 100% every time he walks out...but that 100% isn't enough. Their play is boring to watch. Boring Yet effective is one thing . But Boring as well as Ineffective is criminal.
Houllier must go.

can you explain that ? when did kirkland make match losing mistakes ? Dudek started our horror run when he droped the ball at southgates toes infront of goal .. thats where our horror run started.
Secondly Houllier must not go ! who is their to replace him ? nobody every other "available" manager is ****e compared to houllier .. he took us to 4th from 7th the year before then 3rd and then 2nd dont forget we finished second last year ! then now we are 6th we have a good run home and have a good chance in the UEFA .... a few key players who dont perform is not the gaffers fault its the team .... it may not be pretty it may not be exciting but its liverpool and in the end we will prevail !!!
