Maksim Shatskikh opened the scoring in the 47th minute but Speed replied 11 minutes later and Shearer converted a penalty 20 minutes from time.

That's great, really ! Newcastle has now 6 points. Dynamo has 7 points and Feyenoord has 5. So there a chance for Newcastle to get through. :)

Gary Speed was huge ... he was the man of the match! his performance was excellent.

However Laurent Robert should be shot for his performance.... he was shockingly poor. He is so left footed ! when you see him playit looks like he couldn't use his right to save his life.

oh well it wasn't the best of matches ... and Newcastle made it difficult for thereselves as the shouldve been 1 up or more at the break.
It doesn't matter anyway ... the result is there and that's all well remember in 50 years time
