Hmm, shame to me. I wrote United off, after they lost to City! Phew, United site, didn't post it on the site! so, nobody had a chance to read it. I still have to learn, that United can score and win late. It's great that i was wrong!

Its not over till the lunch lady sings after 38 matches each....... Both teams can still win it....now its almost more a battle against yourself than the other team......

Yeah I agree. There were lots of us ManUtd fans writing off ourselves a few months ago. It would be stupid to start celebrating already and end up with your mouth full teeth. Arsenal have done that yet by claiming they'd win the treble, they're still up for the double. When it's mathematically impossible or the final whistle has blown in 38th match I'll start celebrating. It is looking very bright however, and we've got it in our own hands now.

Yea, but Everton are a solid side....even tho they'll probley crumble.

Arsenal's shot is very, very slim, with our hurt players, weaked midfield and backline...we still have atleast one big weapon, our fate depends on Henry's play.

True, and I feel that everybody is going past Leeds way to easily. Under Reid they've done really well. Viduka seems to know how to score goals again. Crunch games coming up.

Leeds are no pushover... They are capable of pulling an upset... just like they did with Utd earlier in the season.

Calm down everyone, it's not all over yet. United have a 5pt lead over Arsenal, Arsenal have a game in hand, so anything is still possible. I see people forgetting that we have a game against Charlton on Saturday, which we need 3pts from, and they aren't going to just give us the points. They could prove to be difficult, they had a good game on Saturday.

With a bit of luck United will beat Charlton on Saturday and Leeds (or Southampton if Leeds fail) will stop Arsenal beating them (otherwise they could be sucked into a real relegation problem with just 1 game left). This will take the pressure off us for the Everton game, which could also prove to be difficult.

The way I see it, Man Utd have two games left which are must wins, unless Arsenal slip up and the Everton one becomes academic. Charlton is a must. It'll put us 8pts ahead of Arsenal and really pile the pressure on them for Sunday's game.

To the Tottenham match. Was that a stressful game, or what? Once again United meet a keeper having the game of his life, as we have done on many occasions this season, who thwarted us in the 1st half when we could have been 3-0 up. Until the 70th minuite I was pulling my hair out and then Scholesy popped up to finish off another slick United move and make it 1-0.

1-0 is never comfotable viewing, and Poyet came close to levelling the score for Spurs but his header missed the target. Nervous moments. Finally, with 90mins gone, Ruud managed to beat Kasey Keller at last, and net his 40th of the season. What can you say? When was the last time a player in the top division of England netted 40+ goals in a single season?

So United picked up the required 3pts to take advantage of Arsenal's slip up against Bolton and put themselves in the driving seat in the EPL race. Just pick up a further 6pts and the title's going back to Old Trafford. Oh, and hopefully we won't pick up any injuries during the week, especially in view of there being International fixtures at this point of the season. (FIFA need to sort that out - otherwise club teams should arrange fixtures between the QFs and SFs of the World Cup, just to prove a point)

how many LPool fans are there on this board who post?
I can only think of 5, and none of them wrote off ManU.

In fact Amika seems to spend most of his time hoping Arsenal don't win anything rather than caring about MANU.

It was a good performance by the team, and although United were frustrated by missing so many chances, they continued going and eventually reaped the rewards.

It's far from over. United are now in a very good position but they must concentrate on the job. 3 points against Charlton will bring them closer to the title, and pile the pressure on against Arsenal. The Gunners will find it very hard to win two games in a short period of time knowing that they're already 8 points behind.
