Racism allegations against D. Ferguson

Fulham's Luis Boa Morte is still angry with Duncan Ferguson after accusing the Scottish forward of racially abusing him in their FA Cup clash.
The Portuguese winger claims the former Rangers hit-man insulted him last Sunday in Everton's last-gasp 1-1 draw against The Cottagers at Goodison Park.

Boa Morte has stated it is the first time anything like this has happened in his career and is he willing to go above The FA should they fail to take action.

"I have been in football a long time, but no-one have ever abused me like Duncan Ferguson did," said Boa Morte.

"Even now I cannot believe he called me a 'black ****' to my face.

"I was totally shocked. During my career, no-one has ever used those words about me before.

"The FA must investigate or else every black player, every black kid in local parks will be targeted.

"I will not let this rest. If The FA try to sweep it under the carpet, I'll take it to a higher authority. I am really angry about this."

Ferguson's agent Kevin Dooley acted swiftly to protect his client by denying the allegations made by the former Arsenal and Southampton man.

"The suggestion is ludicrous. Anyone who knows Duncan knows he wouldn't get involved in anything like that," said Dooley.

"Duncan would not stoop to something like this. We refute the allegation completely, there is no truth in it whatsoever."

I could totally beleive that he made the remarks, Ferguson is a bit of a hot head. Anyone remember the time he was jailed for headbutting a player while playing for Rangers? There's no excuse for racism in football.

yeah, i was at ibrox that day. I think it was john mcstay.

If i remember correctly that during his rangers career, He went out one night with some of the players and some guy spilt a drink over him. He didnt react or anything, just said it was fine. A couple of hrs later big dunc went outside and saw that very same guy. He knocked him out.

I would have thought big dunc as not a racist but you never know. Big amo when he was playing for rangers called that bvb player a black B on live tv.:kader:

I will defend any Everton player to the ends of the earth... however, I CANNOT defend against racism.

Having said that... how do we know Boa Morte didnt just say that Ferguson called him a "Black ****"?

When I have concrete evidence, FOR EXAMPLE... audio footage AND video of Fergusons lips saying this in syncronisation with the audio... THEN and ONLY THEN will I stop defending him!

Its not as if this is the first time Boa Morte has been involved in a controversy in a match against Everton... in fact, he usually gets sent off! Maybe this was his revenge for NOT getting sent off?!

The player was Victor Ipkeba during the 2nd leg of the uefa cup.

Rangers captain Lorenzo Amoruso has admitted making racist comments to Borussia Dortmund's Nigerian player Victor Ipkeba.

In a dramatic about-turn, the Italian player said he apologised but insisted he was not a racist.

The row blew up after Rangers' defeat in the Uefa Cup match on Tuesday when Amoruso was seen mouthing abuse at Ipkeba.
The Ibrox defender denied making racist remarks and said: "When I swear on a football pitch, I never do it in English because I know I could get into trouble with referees."

But he changed his story after watching a video of the match.

Statement from Ibrox

In a statement released on Thursday, he said: "During the game against Borussia Dortmund I was involved in an incident with Victor Ikpeba and words were exchanged between the two of us.

"However, in a highly charged football match it is not unusual for tempers to boil over and I do not remember making the remarks attributed to me.
"This morning I viewed the video recording of the game and, on this evidence, I cannot dispute the fact that I made the remarks.

"I would like to make an unreserved apology to Victor Ikpeba for these comments.

"I would like to make it clear that I am not a racist and deeply regret any upset I have unwittingly caused to the player or anyone else."

Club silent on punishment

Rangers refused to say whether they would discipline their skipper.

Director-secretary Campbell Ogilvie said: "We discussed the incident at length and it is accepted that the player did not recollect having made these comments.

"However, on viewing the video recording of the match, the player admits the comments attributed to him were made.
"Lorenzo is not a racist and obviously he very much regrets his actions which took place in the heat of the moment.

"This was certainly a case of the player making remarks at a tense point in the match and deeply regretting his actions afterwards.

"Rangers do not condone his comments and as a club we are involved in several anti-racism initiatives."

Football 'passionate game'

Before the statement was released, Rangers manager Dick Advocaat said of Amoruso: "What we have to remember though is that football is a passionate game."

The anti-racism group Kick It Out, which Amoruso has helped to promote, believes both Uefa and the Scottish Football Association have a duty to examine the video.

"Once information like this is in the public domain it needs to be looked at," said spokeswoman Piaoa Powar.
"Rangers are not just representing Scottish football, they are representing Scotland and this incident needs to be investigated."

But after receiving the referee's match report, Uefa has said it is unlikely to look at the pictures.

A spokeswoman said: "There is no mention of this incident either in his report or that of the delegate.

"As no-one has made a complaint to us about this matter there is no evidence to suggest we need to look at video footage."

The SFA would only become involved if asked to by Uefa and spokesman Andy Mitchell said: "This was not our match. It was a Uefa Cup match and we have no jurisdiction over a Uefa Cup match."

LETS KICK RACISM OUT OF FOOTBALL!

Everton fans have really gotta get over Boa. Its not as if Fulham fans hate David Weir for stamping on Boa's head in the game at Craven Cottage. They still go on about that game even though it was almost three years ago. WHY??

im not meaning to sound racist, but it seems to me as if Black players are starting to accuse people of being racist because they know of how big a situation it would be. Though if it is true he should be punished.

Yeah I know, like liar?

The only reason anyone would say something like that after being asked what you were asked, would be if they were clueless as to whoelse has been making racist allegations.

Amoruso can say what he wants, the fact is that he denied it until the video evidence surfaced, then he had no choice but to admit it. I remember something Paul Gascoine said about his own temper flairing on the pitch and having called other players black b*******ds in the heat of the moment. It's deplorable but at least he had the decency to admit something on his own acord without any evidence against him...unlike the likes of Amoruso.

Hey... I just realised... there have been 4 threads relating to Everton within a week ALL NOT created by me!... This must be a record... next thing you know we'll see the complete disappearance of Man United from the Soccer/Football Forum!

hahahahahaha

I think he realised he erred when he generalised.
We'll give him credit for that.

Anyway, I think alot of people make racist comments without being racist themselves...........so until I find a hood in Fergies wardrobe, i'll give him a pass and say he simply crossed the line.
