Radeon 9600 PRO or GF4 TI4200?

I'm planning to replace my old gf2 mx400 because pes3 runs not so good on it.. slowdowns in penalty box etc...
Will radeon 9600 pro be enough to play PES3 on my 1.2GH celeron? Or must i upgrade that too?
Any experiences, suggestions?

I just want to play the game without any slowdowns even if it's on the lowest settings
...but it would be VERY nice if it could run smooth on lets say 800x600 full details..

What about gf4 ti4200?
I've heard it has some problems but with new drivers installed all runs smooth? Is this true?

I just don't want to spend so much money if things won't be any better because the only thing i want to play is PES3 and PES3 only...

i don't know if you'll still be able to buy a ti4200, it's been obsolete for a year or so. The 9600 is apparently a good card, but you can get a Geforce FX 5700 Ultra for similar money at the moment, and the 5700 ultra is far better. the 1.2ghz Celeron is going to be a bottleneck though, so you may find any gfx card you buy won't perform as well as it should.

I have a 2.0 Celeron with GeForce 4 Ti4200 and it doesn't run super smooth. It runs at normal speed for the most part, but in the penalty box it slows down a bit. Still playable though.

9600 pro wins hands down. They offer similar performance for DirectX 8.1 and earlier games but the 9600 pro supports DX9 so it absolutely creams the Ti 4200 for DX9 (read current and future) games. Plus, ATI cards are known to produce better image quality than NVidia cards.

ATi's RAdeone cards are better than the FX cards. The produce clearly better image quality. I've been searching for a new gfx card about a month... I'm prety much an expert now :p Dont go for FX cards. GF4Ti cards are a good choice, fast and cheap. The 9600pro or XT support DirectX 9, they will be much faster when all the new Dx9 games are out and u will offer better quality with any game. the 9600XT is the DirectX9 card with the best Price/performance rating (and performance is not only FPS but also quality) + Atis Overrdrive TM will auto-overcklock your card to get the best possible performance without harmin your card

I have a GF4 4200 ti and I have DirectX 9 installed, should I be using DirectX 8 to get better performance ?

Does anyone know what the best version of the Nvida drivers for this card.
