ok, u can laugh, that's easy enough to do when you look at things superficially. Postiga has had a rough time at Tottenham no doubt, but he's an emerging talent nevertheless. Last year he was one of the main reasons Porto made it to the UEFA Cup final, scored several goals both in Europe and at home, and even today while not getting playing time at Spurs he continues to receive interest from clubs like Celta Vigo, AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Valencia.

that's the problem with threads like this, people vote very ignorantly because they can only accept the leagues that are shown on tv in their countries.

(Y)

i've read threads like this with people ranking 10, 20, 30 leagues. c'mon, nobody actually knows 20 or 30 leagues to rank them like that.

Lol why are people saying that the EPL is low on technical ability when the probably best player in the world plays there.

We are talking about the league as a whole - here are some reasons: -

1. Apart from top 3 teams the rest of the teams are really poor

2. Defensively EPL teams lack organisation

3. EPL teams generally rely on pace and the quick ball

We are talking about the majority NOT the exceptions...

La Liga is the same so is Seria A! Only 3 teams could have won those leages. Real Madrid, Valencia and Barcalona when it cm down to it in La Liga and in italy Roma, Milan or possibly Juve could have won. Whilst in England Arsenal Man Utd and Chelsea cold have won it. And about the defensive thing La Liga's teams have abysmal defenses in some cases. Valencia is the only one I can think of with a good defense. you look at Chelsea and Man Utd (and to a lesser extents arsenals) defenses when at full strntgh are near impossible to break down.
Also I bet Newcastle could beat the Uefa cup placed teams in La Liga and possibly Seria As.

Near impossible to break down???? I don't think so.

i think you're letting your bias get in the way. those 3 English teams don't have defences that are near impossible to break down:rolleyes: (i shouldn't really be talking about defence, but still) and in La Liga (this is where my bias might come in) Real Sociedad narrowly lost the league to us last year. also, Deportivo also have a good chance of winning it. and the Newcastle thing isn't really definite, some of those teams are actually pretty good. Parma hold their own against teams like Juve and Milan who would most likely beat Newcastle.

Just a example: Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo , both reached Champions League playoffs (1/8 finals), and in La Liga they just ended 15th and 19th, Celta even losing his category :|

another la liga example.. apart from the fact that is impossible to go undefeated. Real Madrid lost to Osasuna at home 0-3, every game in La liga is hard to win.. but even when Arsenal has taken days off in the epl they still managed to not lose.

Mikey why don´t you just stick to your opinions about italian football because you dont know anything about the portuguese football. You claim that the french and dutch youth teams are better than the portuguese youth team, that´s fine by me because everyone is entitled to an opinion. But in my opinion the portuguese have produced better results. Im not claiming that we are better, and im talking about youth ranks not the senior team, but im saying that we keep on getting good results. I saw some of the names that were pointed out here. Names like Van der Meyde, who experienced the same problems as Postiga, when the manager didn´t give him much chances, Peggy Luyindula and Robben deserve as much credit as names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Hugo Viana, Tiago of Benfica or Moreira. They didn´t prove themselves yet but some of these players were already envolved in big transfers or are getting/claiming a spot on the Senior Nt. Again i emphatize that im not claiming that we are better, these are different players but everyone who was listed here at least has potencial to become a good player.
I should also remind you that this season the portuguese U-21 faced the french U-21 in the play offs for access to the Euro U-21 championship. The french team of Mexes (Auxerre), Lyiundula (Lyon), Cissé (Auxerre), Pennetaux (Bastia) and Bruno Mendy (Paris S. Germain) played against Portugal with players like Moreira (Benfica), Tiago (Benfica), Hugo Viana (Newcastle Utd), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester Utd), Quaresma ( Barcelona), Postiga (Spurs) and Makukula (Valladolid). We beat them with a class display which was even hailed by the french press and advanced for the Euro U-21.
Last year we also won the Toulon tournemant in which we also beat the french Nt.
I didn´t mention the dutch because they dont usually have very strong youth sides but who cares anyways since they build and produce one the best Nt in the whole world in senior level which matters the most.
Now im not trying to convince you or trying to make you change your opinion. You have your opinion, which i respect, and i have mine and i also provided some facts. I dont think that we are better than the french or the dutch. We have a different type of football that i enjoy to watch and i wish we could have an end to end product with the senior Nt providing with the same results and wins of our youth ranks.
