I'd give myself an 8. I've won everything on level 5, but need to tidy my alround game up. I play counter attacking football which, although very effective, does leak a lot of goals.

Like PES, I ain't perfect. Yet.

I gave myself a 7.
The funny thing is I was bad in defending at first, but that's my strongest point now. :)
Since 2 weeks I play 5 stars on regular bases and my score is roughly 70%.
My weakest point is doing the trick-moves and dribbling past defenders, so I have to pass my way through the defense. That's why I mostly score only 1-2 goals a match.
So, my game is not perfect at all; that's why I gave myself a 7.

So a few Jonny v Han games would probably do us both good!

I suppose my defence is as good as such an attacking formation could reasonably expect. The most I seem to let in is the odd 2 goals with a very ocaisional 3 and even rarer 4 ( with a one off 6:mad: ).

I rely heavily on a quick incisive passing game, particularly down the wings for crosses - I must cross the ball around 15 times a game, from that I'll get maybe 5/6 shots, a couple on target and the odd goal (depending whcih level of bastard mode is being used). But it's also useful in that the defenders are pulled out wide by wy wingers/SHs which lets me play the ball in with an X pass well before I get to the box. From there I tend to get 1 on 1 a lot.

Try and purposley avoid using the 1-2, it was such a major part of my PE2 game that it took me a while to adapt to it's difference and whilst I did I found other ways round the problem.

- Chipped thru balls are great down the wing.
- With faster players, if there is only one defender between them and the goal, play a ball to their feet, use R2 to turn outside the defender then whack them into R1 speed. it's really satisfying when you change to L1 or R2 to switch direction the R1 to pull away.
- Try dribbling not using any of the shoulder buttons, slight dinks of the dPad will shield the ball, then when you see your chance pass it on or make a proper run for it.

It's really difficult to give advice to someone I've never seen play so please don't be offended if some of that seems over simple!!

I also gave myself a 7 and like Han, I've made the permanent step up to level 5 in the past few of weeks....and I love it.

I did try level 5 shortly after I first got the game...I think it was actually Jonny who suggested I try it so I played a match(20 minutes, i think) against Argentina and got hammered 7-1, so I went back to level 3.

But my level 5 play is now much improved. I used to play all-out attack and it was mainly runs down the wing with loads of crosses but now I play a more patient game, I feel much more in control and spend less time sprinting after the ball all of the time.

I defend patiently then hit on the break....but also some nice patient build-up play, the dribbling with different speeds is a beautiful feature of the gameplay in PES....and the excellent PES one-two & through ball down the flank can skin even the level 5 defences.

It really is just like real football. :)

I reckon 5 at the moment, although I play it most nights. I tend to play it on level 3 difficulty and win just about all of my matches with anyone I play as (say a 30 game season I'd win 24, probably lose 1/2 and draw the others). I need to improve on my free kicks and long passes (although I'm becoming quite consistent with the latter now). I'm can score off a respectable amount of corners, and am okay at defending, but once in a while the defense does leek.

I can lose concentration if I start cruising in a match but this is more to do with me messing around, yesterday for example I was Colombia in an international cup and got into the quarters where I met Turkey. Didn't think I'd have much of a problem and didn't until I was 2-0 up then started messing around, being clever with my keeper and trying spectacular shots, such as lobs, etc. rather than the goal that would (in the end) have clinched it, so if I wanted to win it I would have. In the end I conceded two sloppy goals in the last 10mins, still trying to be too clever after conceding one goal, and they got an annoying, acres of space header in extra time.

I think I need to move up a level but I'm having fun on level 3. :)

So there are 4 "9"s here - but no one admitted to it........

C'mon lads, I won't challenge you to a game or anything! Tell us WHY you are a 9.
