I like this Pepe guy. He;s one of the few guys I've seen come here and truly feel Real Madrid. Always seems to say the right things in interviews, always points out his love for the club and how he always wanted to wear our shirt, etc. always smiling, looks like a nice character, impressed very much in his debut, is young, tall....I have a good feeling about him! Marca is BS! A few hours back they said he is ours now they say he is of pathetico. O well. f*ck them! Our board really s*cks! They want to pay 10-13 mil for Drenthe but dont want to pay the same for Reyes!!!! I mean WHAT THE F*CK! Drenthe is 20, Reyes 23/24 Every brazilian/argie that is 18 is as good or better then Drenthe. They overrate him like hell! He played 3 great matches in the U21 EC and had a bad season at Feyenoord. I mean 3 matches! You cant judge a player by 3 matches! Reyes on the other hand is superb, he should be bought! Even if its 15 mil! But I think that our board thinks that Robben is enough for the left wing. Very very stupid again

i've alwayz believed in marca... they had been right in numerous ocassions
metzelder's and saviola's signings... for example....
but this is just bull****, and if it is indeed true...

Like I said b4, Pedja & Co. are bad negotiators. That, then throw in the fact that clubs always want to milk us and/or screw us over....:-puke:

I think Marca might be right on this one. First, Arsenal (long tradition of not cooperating with us) have his contract, second, pathetico has been aggresive in picking up good players this season + our "stinginess" not to pay Arsenal what Reyes is worth

About Drenthe, I agree. Who the F is this guy? 3 matches = bollocks. I hate when they judge someone on a few games. It happens all the time after the WC and then more often than not, the players turn out to be junk (see: Denilson, Cisse, etc.). Not to mention we still need a great AM since Guti is so irregular...

Two other sources are saying that reyes may be headed to atletico, ALthough, Skysports is saying that madrid have reached an agreement with arsenal. The deal looks to be presented in the following days.. So I guess Until madrid confirm, I for one, wouldn't take the "Reyes to Atletico" News all too seriously.

Reports emanating from Spain claim Real have finally agreed a deal with Arsenal for the permanent signing of Reyes.

The Spanish titans have offered Reyes a four-year deal and he is expected to complete the move in the next few days.

I agree, reyes is another one. he would die for the club. shame we are making such a **** up of buying him. he won us the ******* title in hat last match, 10million for a title? definate buy. sky sports never usually get it wrong. so touch wood reyes is coming and if he does we dont need to pay over the odds for robben. chelsea know we need a left winger which is why they are ****in us about.

i think nasri would be a good buy but he is a long term solution, he still needs time to mature and build some muscle, he is still very light weight for a player who plays in the middle, i think he needs atleast another 3-4 years before he can play for real madrid. we should get something like a first option to buy him or buy him and loan him back to marseille. we need someone like requilme or ballack at the moment who would fitt in perfectly at the moment, although gut looked pretty good the other day against stoke, if schuster knows how to handle him maybe he can our play maker next season.

Agree about Nasri. Right now we can afford to sign Ballack. His age is irrelevant since our average age is 23? 24? We can afford to ignore age since we have sooo many youngsters for the future. Bringing in Ballack for this season is not a bad move. If only Guti were regular he'd be perfect. When he's on his game he's 2nd to none but then he has 2 or 3 bad games and the cycle continues...

Higuaín joined Real Madrid six months ago and he is happy with being a part of the team. He is working very hard in the preseason, during which Schuster is positioning him on the right wing.




What did Schuster say to the team after the first game?
He was happy with our performance. He said they defended well but that we managed to play a good game. We have to loosen up a bit, but he thought it was important that we all asked for the ball.
It seems he has positioned you on the right wing...
There are many strikers on the team and I don't mind playing as a winger. I prefer playing as a striker, but all I really want is to help the team any way I can.

Are you comfortable in that position?
I'm never uncomfortable on a pitch and I will do as the coach says. I will play wherever he wants as long as it helps the team.

The coaching staff put you in pairs to share rooms. What do you think of that?
I think it is a good decision. I never shared a room before at Real Madrid, but I did it all the time when I was at River Plate.



What do you think of Saviola?
He is very happy here. He is a fellow Argentine and I try to help him any way I can.

What do you hope to achieve this year?
To play more and to score more goals. I also want to win more titles.

Would you consider leaving the team if you didn't play much?
I'm very happy here. This is the best team in the world and I have never thought about the possibility of leaving.

Does the team need more signings?
We already have a good enough squad, but we would welcome new signings. We are going to do our best in order to achieve our goals.


It seems José Antonio Reyes has signed for Atletico Madrid...
We hope he does well wherever he plays. I got along very well with him and I'm sad not to have him as a teammate anymore. I wish him to be very successful.

They have, but Real Madrid is currently the best team in Spain and defending champion of the Spanish League.

I don't know who has better individual players, but we work better as a team. We've proved to be a united squad.

besides, last year reyes agreed to play for atletico but then we snatched him from them....

His interview:

The 23-year-old is reported to have signed a pre-contract agreement with Atlético, but could still make his move to the Bernabéu permanent.

With the new offer from Atleti on the table and Madrid still still in talks with Arsenal, Reyes knows that whichever club wins the race, he will be staying in Spain.

"I am delighted to be staying in Madrid," he said.

"It is certain that I am staying in the capital, although I will have to wait a bit to see where I will play."

After his loan deal with los Merengues ended, Reyes has opted to remain in his home city of Seville and push himself through a solitary pre-season regime.

His desire not to return to the Premiership is well-domcumented and manager Arsène Wenger will only take him back should all transfer options fail.

"I have been training on my own to keep in shape, but it is not the same," Reyes continued.

"I have suffered by training alone and have felt powerless that I was unable to share a pre-season with team-mates.

"But that is why I am happy, because my future is now a bit clearer."

Atlético are ahead in the race to secure Reyes' signature, but he hinted that if the option to make a move to Bernd Schuster's side became a reality then that would be his first choice.

"We have more news about one team than the other, but we will have to wait and see what happens," he added.

"Hopefully it will all be solved in the next few hours."

So as you can see, his first choice is still Real. So we will have to wait!

EDIT: I just read the interview with Schuster on the Real site and I read something that I was afraid off! He said the following:

I would be a lot more relaxed if they were here. There may be a surprise at the end of all this. Let's see if it can become reality. Getting Robben here is very important. That would allow Robinho and Higuaín to play along the right. I want a lot of mobility there, similar to what Zidane would do.

Robinho on the right?! That is really sh*T! Then it would be better to bench the guy. Higuain is much better then Robinho on the right. Robinho should play SS! But that is something that will never happen I guess! Such a shame, I mean if he plays there I think that he can be 100% more effective! He isnt a winger. He hasnt got a cross! Higuain has a fantastic right foot and even a good left foot. But Robinho doesnt have a good cross and is really ineffective on the right. Well, lets see what he can bring on the right! (when he played there before it was sh*t)
