Well, it's hard to aruge with the 2 league titles and some of the players we got under them look very nice ( Gago, Marcelo, Higuain, etc) but this summer they pinned too much hope on the one big transfer that would have really helped our out. When that fell through than all hell broke lose, anyway the squad is pretty good as is but like others said maybe not enough dept for CL. Lets see how things go.

For my money Higuain can be the next Raul (sort of). In the sense that he can be the future of Madrid (referance), he sweats the shirt like Raul, is a non controversial. healthy young man who , IMO, embodies Real Madrid perfectly. I feel very strong about this. He is turning out to be one of my favorite players. Am I the only one who sees this?

And Roben happy to see him healthy. He is lethal when healthy. One of the best players in the world dominating the ball, for sure.

Aside of the "big" deals that fell through, (Kaka, Ronaldo, etc.) theyve been quite good actually but their handling of these big deals, along with the inability for Caldeon to remain quiet at sensitive times......

Yes but you must admit, that they have been so inept at actually negotiating those deals that is it almost comical, lets look at the Drenthe deal. I am still unconvinced by him, ok, I know most of you like him, but for a player who at the time was unproven young talent at best we overpaid, like crazy, that deal went from 6 to 9 to 10 to 13M Euro's in the course of a week because of how much both Pedja and Calderon leaked of the transfer and how much they talked....Robben, another example from 21M to 36M, Sneijder from 20M to 28M, Pepe from 20 to 30....you get the picture....overpaying for players regardless of how good they turn out to be shows an inability to negotiate in today's market, and an inability to atract the players you need to win or be in the figth for the champions consistently....so yes, two ligas, but lets be honest, number 30 was due to the amazing spirit of the squad as fostered by the captains in that locker room and Capello, number 31 was the result of outstanding player management by Bern Schuster IMO, I dont think any of it was down to the front office making the right calls. Almost never anyway...I didnt like what Fiorentino did to the club in the long run, but we should be able to fairly negotiate for just about any player in the world and in the span on a summer we have lost what little credibility we had....We knew we needed a forward, we knew we needed a winger or a RB at least, but what do we do? we obsess with a little prick who holds two of the greatest clubs in history at his whim.....just a travesty.....anyway, Im pretty heated about this latest fiasco

probably the toughest group, before watching the draw i would have said our team is big enough and strong enough to win it now im starting to think we do need to sign one or two players!
