Madrid will only buy him back if he explodes at Sevilla. The buy-back price is 17 million euros, not 4 or 5 like Granero and Negredo had this summer. I think Real Madrid only included the buy-back clause to appease fans and in the event that he becomes a world class striker.

That's what everybody said about Soldado and Portillo. The sad truth is that Madrid would much sooner buy a big name for the forward position than trust its homegrown talent (see Cassano, RvN, Benzema, Huntelaar, Robinho, Owen, Baptista, Saviola, Higuain, etc). In two years time, Madrid will be chasing whoever is hot at the time and Negredo will be forgotten. That is unless he scores 20+ goals a season with Sevilla, which I don't expect to happen with Kanoute and Fabiano ahead of him and Jimenez's conservative tactics.

And yes, I know Negredo is better than Portillo and Soldado, but my point still stands.
