Ronnie was in the shadow of Messi last season, but when asked in the summer of 2009 which one of the two I thought was better I eventually went with Ronaldo. Dude is just so ******* good; I think we all might have forgotten that just a little last season.

Why? He still carried Madrid last year. He was incredibly indispensable. Ronaldo has 0.95 average since he came to Real, he hasn't performed for the NT in the same level as in the clubs but that's a whole different story, bottom line is that they're both, unquestionably, the worlds best players.

Sneijder still deserves the Ballon d'Or though. (H)

Snejder does for real.

CR7 poor international play is mainly due to the fact that Portugal's NT does not have the same supportive cast hRonnie has in Madrid. Simple as that.

I know, but Messi was just in a completely different stratosphere last year and seemingly left even Ronaldo in the dust. I think CR7 has something to prove this year.

and he is doing just that.. proving how good he really is. He started off slow, but once he put in that first goal, he hasn't stopped.

Great to see Benzema be the key to those two last goals. Specially on that last one, He saw Ronaldo open and went for the pass.

Benzema is a great player. I'm willing to bet his poor year last season was about 10% because of him and 90% due to the club, manager, and other factors.

Ronaldo is phenomenal atm, hope he keeps it going. Hope Benzema's contribution last night is only the start of what's to come, great player, just needs to start performing like he did for lyon. He seems to have the backing from his team-mates and his coach, so let's hope he can justify his pricetag.

It's actually not as simple as that, but it's one of the issues...

Did Mourinho hit back at the Hercules manager, since the guy did promise to win against Real?

Real Madrid is the best club if you wanna waste your talent. Van Der Vaart, Sneider, Robben etc for eg. They left at the right time.

I think only Vaart has a case for being a 'wasted talent' there. Robben and Sneijder played and played fairly well, they just got off-loaded (wrongly) when the club brought in new players.

Even Vaart had his shot.

They did play well. Robben had injury problems anyways. But at RM, there was always gonna be new stars coming, making it more difficult for the younger players.

My point is that if they had stayed, they would've probably been relegated to the bench with new stars Kaka and Ronaldo arriving. Not the best place for young players.

By the way what will happen to Kaka when he returns? Benched? Sold for 1/5 his price?

People have said Mourinho will use Kaka (when fit) as a backup for the attacking quartet, and will start if one of the them gets injured (unless higuain gets injured then benz will play).

But according to a ESPNSoccernet blogger who has connections with AC Milan says that Kaká will be sold in either january or summer to AC Milan for about 30 million euros.

Milan's defence needs a €30m facelift; if Silvio decides to spend that amount on Ricky instead, thinking that that'd win the fans adulation (another "gift", as he called Robinho), he'd better think again ...

I'd prefer to see Milan loan Kaká in (like they did with Sheva), and then let Carletto or Mancio pick him up for 30+ mil ...

Has this guy ever made an accurate prediction?

"Vamos a Ganar" - Last season's clasico in Barcelona. Madrid did not win.

"No volvera a pasar" - Ronaldo promises not to lose his head and get ejected. Ronaldo later in the season loses his head and gets ejected.

"El Madrid va a ser el mejor en 2010" - Ronaldo at New Year's. Madrid was not the best of 2010.

"Aqui ganaremos 3-0" - Ronaldo after losing 1-0 in Lyon. Madrid did not win 3-0 in the return leg.

"Tranquilo Presi, vamos a ganar la liga" - Ronaldo promising the league after being eliminated from the Champions League. Madrid did not win the league.

"Vamos a ganar, seguro" Ronaldo promising to win the clasico.... again. Madrid did not win, again.

What a ******* clown

hehehe.. yeah He should stay away from making predictions. Although in his defense, If Pippo had been called off-side as it clearly was, then we would have won.

Once again, Benzema with a worthy contribution with a nice assist, glad to get the draw because we are now through the group stage.
