Reason #83 why I love PES

I've been playing WE series since WE3, and after so much of WE7 & now the PES3 demo, I much say, this still amazes me.

Playing as England VS Italy, I hit a low shot in the box with Francis Jeffers. Buffon saves it on the line, bounce off the post and out. Play stops and I see Jeffers running towards the corner flag celebrating.

What happened? On the replay, it shows that when Buffon saved the shot, the ball was actually over the goal line then bounce to the post and out. WHAT INCREDIBLE PHYSICS!

Talk about non-scripted goals.

Someday I should put all the reasons in a scrap book.

Lets hear it from you guys.

yes i had almost the same situation. Backham took a free kick and buffon dived and i thought he saved it, but in the replay you could see he saved it behind the goal line.

It would be cool if they would make it so that even though the ball went over, they say it didn't and Jeffers starts throwing a fit.

Maybe next year :p

and i also noticed something weird. Cole once made a "Maradonna" header to clear the ball out of the box. In the replay you could clearly see he made a heading move but he actually put his arm in the air and slapped the ball away:crazyboy:

I'm going to get the game within 24 hours, but for those qho have already played the game, I have a question: does PES2 still have that (rare) bug that causes the computer to register a goal even when the ball clearly hit the side netting very close to the post? And are the keepers now stronger on the near post? In PES2 a lot of shots aimed at the near post would be parried by the 'keeper into the net or onto the post.

the keepers are truly something new, u can take manual control over them if u want to, so that could solve a few problems or create more heh. ive noticed the keeper is still kinda weak when it comes to near post goals. he doesent fully stretch after the ball when it happens, kinda just falls like a lil jerk. but all in all, to me the keepers are alot more "human" in PES3, more animations, sometimes losing grip when really shouldnt. u will know so much more after uve playd it for a week straight.

nice story, I had a similiar goal.

I was Raul and pulled some nice moves on a defender and got into the box, i shot and the ball hit of rio ferdinand's knee and slipped in past James goalll. :D

Was that bug in PES2? I haven't seen it happen since the first PES. Clearly visible on the replay that the shot went into the side netting, yet players celebrate and a goal is given! I've also seen the opposite happen, again only noticed myself in PES1, where the replay shows a perfectly good goal yet play continues as if it had gone off for a goal kick.

Mine wasn't a goal but my defender (can't remember who) but saved a goal from the line. The CPU had a crack at my net and deflected from my defence it was going in and I saw it, I sprinted with my denfender and tackled it away just at the goal line. It was amazing. This game is brilliant. :D Ohh by the way I am playing it on my bro's pc which runs smoothly with his radeon 8500 :hump:

Yeah I remember a couple of goals scored like that in PES2, but it was very rare. I never saw the second bug in PES2 either - just PES1.

Yo man, did you have to tweak anything?
CUz i got a Radeon 7000 and i need to tweak the hell out of it, and it's still not at the framerate i predict it should.

Gimme some help.

but you still can't make them drop the ball manually after they took possession... still not, after all those years.... a minor thing, but even Club Football has it....

No he didn't tweacked anything except turning his antialias off. But he got 700 MB ddr ram. It makes difference IMO. I tryed his 256MB ddr ram and it was fine on my maching with a GForce 4 MX but I still had some slight problems from time to time when the box gets crowded with players in the wide cam.
