Reducing Fifa.fat Properly????

Can someone tell me the proper way of reducing the Fifa.fat file?

I've searched the forum but can't find one exact answer. Some people say to open zdatas 39-43 and delete the files inside them. Others says only zdatas 40-43. Others say the files can be deleted completly while others have said that the files should be exported to the root folder of the game.

So which is it???? 39-43 or 40-43? Deleted the files or keep them?


Also, if I delete an existing kit in CM08 instead of just replacing it with a new one, will that reduce the size of the fifa.fat file as well? Does the actual kit file get deleted from it's original zdata?

delete all the t212*** files in ur last zdatas and rebuild, and use fifa fat unlimited that gives u a fifa.fat with around 585kb

Thanks man.

This will be my last go at updating my game. After 4 months of updating, my game crashes everytime I finish the first season. No clue why.

So this past weekend i created cmp patches for all my leagues. Tried to start with a clean install, and after importing 2 of the patches I had created, my fifa.fat went all the way to 271k.

Nice to know there is such a thing as fifa unlimited. If this doesn't work, than it's back to PES.

Your team is larger than 30 players , or the other teams in your league has 30+ players

try other fifa.db or use EA's

that file does not work for me.

Everytime I click on it I get a message saying "Windows cannot access the specied file or path" Tried downloadig it at work, and the anti-virus went nuts on it.

Than tried it on my laptop and I get the same message "Windows cannot access the specied file or path". 3 computers and the file won't work.

So i need to reduce the fifa.fat. No other choice.

theres a way to to add a file to safe list with anti-virus programs. or put them on Quarintine (however its spelt) so itll still be there. and you have to copy it into FIFA 08 main folder and rename it to fifa08

I have nod32 at home and AVG on my laptop. I didn't have a problem with the anti-virus at home. No pop ups or anything. On my laptop, avg detected it as a trojan so I just closed avg.

But everytime I click on the file, the computer becomes really slow and a few moments later I get a pop up saying "Windows cannot access the specied file or path".

And deleting the file was a pain as well. I click on it, and it takes forever to select it. Than I press deleted and takes a few more minutes for it to get deleted. That happened on both my computers.

Don't think it's the antivisus.
