Respect to Turkey

After seeing how they played so far in the Confederations Cup I must say that Turkey are freakishly good. I mean, the way they just stopped those teams' attacks, the way they win the ball and some how manage too score, it's great stuff to see. I know this is probably not the usually first team regulars but if so, Turkey has a really bright future. They really work hard and they deserve to be where they are. Some players for mention: Tuncay, Rustu,Basturk, Yilmaz, Bulent. Really great stuff. Not to mention they have good support.

Thanks for the respect, I didnt think Tuncay was this good, I was most of his games with Fenerbache and we was pretty greedy with the ball, doing all this one on one moves a stuff, but hes impressed me.

Honestly I thought Brazil really had this game in the bag...

They played a superior first half and just needed better finishers...
Oh well in the end Turkey deserved the victoyr more... they took advantage of some major defensive blunders by brasil.

is a great team with great players especially Nihat, for me the big surprise of the season
they play great football.
for me turkey and portugal are the best european sides at this moment

Yes, I was really Impressed with them at the last WC, and they proved once again they are great contenders, I hope they do the same to France. I think Rustu is cool as hell.

Thanks for the respect.I've always been saying that Turkey is one of the best teams in europe right now, but some people said it was just by chance in wc 2002.I'm sure they're understanding Turkey's power better now, as many of our star players are missing in this tournament.Anyways, I think we will have great success in europe 2004 and wc 2006.
And about the fans' behavior, i also think it was bad.That's the first time i saw Turkish fans got on the pitch.They always threw bottles etc., but never did this.The fans who've been supporting Turkey in this tournament are mostly Turks living out of Turkey, they dont see Turkish national team much, so I think they got really excited.

Turkey were pretty good again in the Confederations Cup, and their second half performance against Brazil - albeit a weakened Brazil - showed exactly why they finished 3rd in World Cup 2002.

And to do so by missing quite a few of their stars, including Tugay, Hakan Sas, Hakan Sukur, etc. showed the depth in their squad.

I was very disappointed with them when they played England earlier in the year, but surely they have enough talent to down the English back in Turkey.

No for the confederation cup, but for their performance in the world cup and the players it has.

Confederation cup is crap! A silly tournament invented by FIFA to earn more money.

i think not. they will play only in U21 Euro qualifying. they are in same group with england too.

I have no respect for Turkey especially their fans. For those of you who watched the match last night you'll know what i mean. If England fans were behaving like that there would be hell to play.

As for the match Turkey drew against a depleted Brazilian team who were missing a lot of key players.

As for Thursday night i hope the French stuff the Turks and shut those ****ing Turk fans up

You and Toon Army are out of order...I admit that some Turkey fans behave in a disgusting way but there's no need to tar all Turkish fans with the same brush. I mean I go to England games and I don't think it's fair or right that all England fans are labelled as hooligans just because of those mindless idiots who go to England games to start trouble, as the majority of England fans are decent people.

Yesterday's game was disgraceful with bottles thrown on the pitch and the Turkish captain having to calm the fans down and I do agree with Toon Army that if England fans had done the same, we would have been severely punished by UEFA. I actually fear what will happen if Turkey lose on Thursday....seeing how some of the Turkish fans reacted when they were winning against Brazil..

What about behaviour of english fans in england - turkey match in england? didnt they get on the pitch in that match? or was all the world dreaming? i dont think so.dont generalize it and, this happened for the 1st time.Cuz I watched all Turkey's matches and they never got on the pitch before.Dont forget what your fans did in england- turkey match in sunderland.
