I've noticed there have been a lot of angry threads in here lately especially concerning the US team. Don't worry. I'm not going to mention any of that.

I just think that it needs to be said that all teams competing in the World Cup deserve respect. I love the World Cup competition and not just to support my own team. It's great to see teams like Ghana reach this stage for the first time and it's interesting to see the different styles exhibited by each country. The T&T and Sweden match was testament to the courage of a lesser team. I thought for sure that Sweden would dominate but T&T hung on to get the draw. Watching the emotion of the Mexico team when they beat Iran and embraced Oswaldo Sanchez was really moving and their convincing performance showed the class of this team. Angola's knock-down-drag-out battle with Portugal really showed their tenacity. They didn't give up. Ivory Coast had a tough time against a rejuvenated Argentina yet they managed to scrape a goal out of it. This Argentina team looks really good and it appears that the magic might be back for them. There have already been a lot of great moments in this cup and I look forward to the games ahead.

And a final note-

This competition is about athletes from all over the world competing on one stage and putting aside the petty politics. Yes, the US lost but the game is over. Time to pick up the pieces and regroup. The Czechs have a stellar team and who knows. Perhaps they can challenge Brazil this tournament.

Definitely.

I've watched all games so far, just about every game has been at least worth watching. It's fun watching the different players, styles of plays and see underdogs play with heart. Great World Cup so far.
