If you don't save it's the same as if you didn't change anything :innocent_smile_1:
The alternative to leave your database unchanged is using the assignments avaiable on revolution mod. It's the only way you can see faces changed during an already in progress career or even change a player's boots.

The thing is though... the face isn't showing even adding the assignment on the player.lua file.

This is what I did:
1- In CM12, selected the player (Pablo Ledesma). Unticked the "Has a generic face" checkbox and imported everything (textures and models).
2- Closed CM12 without saving changes in order to avoid corrupting the databse.
3- Edited the player.lua file and added this "assignPlayerFace(158089) --Ledesma Face" then saved the changes and closed that file.
4- Regenerated and run the game.

He's not showing any changes in game.

That's why I asked if I needed to save changes in CM12 even if I edited player.lua file

I hope someone can help me out with my problem. All other faces (for players who already had specific faces AND for those with generic ones too) worked, but they worked AFTER I saved changes in CM12, which messed up my database. So I had to delete the Squads file, and get a new Database (the .db and .xml files) to get the game updated again... which obviously made my career get corrupted. So I had to start the game from 0.

Anyone knows i reinstalled fifa but cant change regenerator looking directory so i cant regenerate anyone?

Help me , revolution mod stoped work for me today. I put the files in the right place fifa12/game/data/fifarna/lua/assets/, i ran the regenerator, both CM12 and i68, even deleted my squads and nothing happens. that ****y generic faces is back.

I'm using Rev mod 1.0 because 1.2 crashes here.

Which DB patch are you using?

I think any squad updates from EA are incompatable with a modified DB.

Assignments in the lua file may show in Euro 2012 DLC, I do not have it so I can not test. I think the lua files are shared between FIFA 12 and the Euro DLC. Rememeber to regenerate using CM12 instead of i68 regenerator.

There is an example in the manual for Liverpool, you just need to change Liverpool's ID (9) to Real Madrid'd ID (243) to make it work.

With this mod I would recommend using the regenerate function in CM12 instead of i68 Regenerator.

I don't know which DB I'm using. I found it through Google.

Also, yeah all the other faces I've inserted for players who used to have a generic face, is working ingame. But as I've told you in the previous page, there's a difference between the other 20 faces I've inserted and this one: For the rest of them, I kept SAVING in CM12 after inserting the textures and the rx3 files. For example: Selected Alexis Sanchez, unticked the "has a generic face" then proceed to import all the textures, SAVE, and finally edited the player.lua file. I did that with my first 20 faces. Then, when I went to play the game I found out my DB was corrupted, so all the changes I had been doing since FIFA 12 came out were gone. That's when I downloaded this DB and figured out I wouldn't be saving the changes in CM12 ever again. But now I don't know how to get the faces working without saving changes when you untick the "Has a generic face" option.

Use revolution mod...

In player.lua add this:

assignPlayerFace(playerID)

Do this for all the players that you've added specific faces and you should be good to go. As long as you got the rx3 files in the right places you should have no problem. Make sure you used the correct id in the assignment and that the files have the correct name.
The Db doesn't get corrupted. What happens is when you change player headclasscode in the db the game reckons the db with the changes doesn't match the squads file inside your profile. That's why it says the squads file is damaged.
I don't ever save squad files and whenever the game does I delete it, but I also use the player assignments in revolution mod just in case.

Yes i know this is a stupid question, but do i need to click on save after regenerating with CM12?

I think that regenerating will not solve my problem. Indeed, is not the Rev mod that stop work, is the face assignment, others assignments like adboards shows in game.
I've tried everything and nothing makes the player.lua work. Yes, i already regenerate only with CM12.
I was using this mod about 2 months and suddenly the generic faces backs.... I need help!

Thank you, but as I've stated repeated times, I've edited player.lua file successfully for Ledesma and for the other 30 faces I added before him. I added the right assignment, so that is not the problem. I used CM12 to import all the files belonging to Ledesma (face, head, hair, eyes, textures), so that is not the problem either.

The only difference between the other 30 faces I added before Ledesma is that I used to save the changes in CM12 after importing and unticking the "has a generic face" option whenever it was ticked. I used to go and click save after doing all that. But with Ledesma, I didn't save the changes in CM12. I unticked the "has a generic face" option, then imported all the files, I could see his face in the preview working right, then closed CM12 without saving. Then went to the player.lua file and added the right assignment. Yet it's not working.

Is it clear now?

There must be something else.

I understand your situation, I need some information so I can identify why your face assignments are not working. What do you see ingame for players who you have assigned faces to in player.lua, who have generic faces assigned in the DB; generic, transparent or black faces? Do any other assignments in player.lua show ingame? Add some for testing if you have no other statements.

You do not need to save the database after regenerating with CM12. Face and adboard assignments are in different files, the game may read one but not the other. Do other player.lua assignments show ingame?

I've downloaded a clean Rev mod, i put my codes in that clean player.lua, saved, moved to fifa12/data/fifarna/lua/assets, i run CM12's regenerator and still generic.

I see the same generic face he used to have.

Do I have to create a new profile everytime I change something? Or delete the squads file?. Maybe I'm missing something, although I've already specified what I do step by step in my previous posts.

I might need to explain something else but it's gonna confuse you all a lot. So before I exlpain that, let's see if you can help me out with the information I gave away already.

Do other statements in player.lua show ingame? I need to know whether your game is reading player.lua.

Yeah the other statements show ingame, but as I've mentioned in my other posts: There is a difference between all the other statements and this last one: I used to save the changes in CM12 before this one, which messed up my db (and squads file). So all the other statements have also been changed from CM12 (for example, when unticking the "has a generic face" option I would save the change in CM12). But for this last face, I didn't do that... and that's the only one that's not showing up in game.
