Reyes to Arsenal, almost closed

Dream Team

Starting XI
I think Reyes is the best young player from europe, bad news for me because I wanted him for Barça. Good news however because I thought he would never leave Sevilla after he signed the new contract.

The best lucks for him in the PL, if the sign is confirmed.

€35million is A LOT for such a young player, I can already see the flames coming in when he plays bad.

the fee is 20M pounds and its absolutely fantastic that he is coming to Arsenal. Of course they may struggle with funds but no way is Henry moving anywhere.+ he's eligible for CL this season .
Move should be completed on Wednesday after a medical

But wonder where he will play as he plays on left side and already Henry drifting, Pires and Edu on the left, anyway great move tho:rockman:

According to the Sevilla's presidant, Arsenal are paying more for Reyes than what Real Madrid are paying Manchester United for David Beckham.

Surely its more than £24m then, perhaps well more.

Sevilla have confirmed that Arsenal beat off late interest from Barcelona to secure the services of Jose Antonio Reyes.
The Spanish international completed his move to Highbury on Tuesday in a deal reputed to be worth €35 million (£24 million).

However, Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has now revealed that Primera rivals Barcelona made a late bid to lure the 20-year-old to Camp Nou.

The Sevilla supremo refused to be drawn on the exact transfer fee agreed with the North London titans, but admitted it was more than Real Madrid ended up paying for David Beckham.

"They didn't pay (this fee) for Beckham, nor for Ronaldinho and neither did Bayern for (Roy) Makaay," he stated.

"What's more, last Sunday I received an offer from Barcelona, from Laporta himself, who offered us just over half what the English club (Arsenal) are paying us."

The late efforts by Barca to snare Reyes probably led The Gunners to push through a deal for the gifted attacker - who becomes the club's record signing.

Del Nido confessed his sorrow at seeing the Sevilla youth product leave, but insisted it was ultimately in the Primera outfit's best interests.

"It's the saddest thing we've ever had to do," he added.

Reyes is believed to have flown to England on Tuesday afternoon to complete a medical, and will be officially unveiled later in the week.

That's a lot of money, so economicaly this is the best of option for Sevilla, that's sure, but I don't know if we only speak about football.

Now sevilla is in place 15th of the Liga, I don't know how they will do without his best and key player.
Don't know what will sevilla supporters think about this and how will they react if the team the team loses next games...

The team is also alive in the Spanish Cup, and probably it will play semifinals, but without Reyes.

Not a good comparation, Reyes is not a Forward, is a 2nd or 3rd forward, or sometimes a winger too... you can compare Reyes to Zidane, to Giggs, to Pires...

if he joined for an undisclosed fee could the clubs be bluffing?
