Roberto Carlos to Chelsea!?

As I said ... you cannot compare the games played by him for the NT with the ones played for his club. He plays a lot better for the club so you can never know.
He might be a good investment :D.

Not really, Arsenal tore him a new asshole more than once. Arsenal's style is typical of what he'd face in the Premiership, hard running, hard tackling players.

Carlos is good at what he does, but at his age it'd be best for him to stay in Spain. It's alot more skill oriented, where as England's style has a much more physical edge.

I mean, if a defender goes down Chelsea already have Glen Johnson on the right, is Roberto Carlos on the left and Johnson on the right a good idea?

I honestly think it is just another Kakha Kaladze saga.

Its the work of his agent trying to get him more money at Madrid.

I really thought it might have been genuine until he came out with the phrase "If Real dont match their offer then I will have to move" or something like that

If the offer is so damn good, and you were going to Qatar anyway, why even hesitate?

you cant just blame him, you could blame your whole pathetic d-line
he is the epitome of whats wrong with it. Moody, cant defend, too attack minded, etc etc

His redeeming quality is the ability to hit a ball at 150 km/h. Outside of that, he does nothing else well anymore.

See thats what you Carlos jockers dont get. I dont want him at Chelsea not because he wasnt a good player in his day. Its because in the champions league and against top domestic opposition, he is going to be exposed for the one dimensional geriatric that he is. And in a team that hopes to compete for everything this year, thats not nearly good enough

I also find it hillarious that Mourinho admires what he has achieved and is eager to see what he can bring to the table despite his poor attitude and alleged moodiness, and yet a team first, character guy that can actually play and defend and isnt 33 years old is getting iced out of the team like a kicked-to-the-curb ex girlfriend. Its a f*cking joke

I feel that at 33(?) hes not really got much to offer.

Chelsea should look at getting someone alot younger than will be at the club longer than a season or 2.

I spose chel$ki has so much money that they can afford to waste it on signings such as Carlos and not really care if it doesn't pay off.... :chew:

sarcasm....i'm sure that chelsea would not waste their money, i just hope they do (6)

So far though i can't think of many of their transfers being a waste and i dont reckon this year's big signings in the form of sheva & ballack will be a waste either

however, i had not realised u guys actually lacked a left back

It wouldnt surprise me if he signs, because Chelsea will probably play a 4-4-2 with Sheva and Ballack arriving. So if they play say Ballack Lampard Makelelelle and a wide man in Cole or SWP, they will be a very narrow side. Carlos or another attacking Left back in Cashley Cole would give them more width

chelsea's spending spree is really becoming a joke. Does Carlos really fit into their plan? This is the problem with having too much money, there is not much worry if he cannot perform, just let him sit on the bench and collect his wages (sigh....)
